In order to achieve the optimum result when working with the 2D-Kit System, we recommend reading the instructions carefully and following them step by step. Symbols used in the text In the paragraphs highlighted with this symbol, you will find tips and practical advice to work with the 2D-Kit System. In the paragraphs highlighted with this symbol, you will find additional information and it is very important that you follow the instructions given. Additional information about manuals, datasheets, software updates or new calculation files can be downloaded from our homepage. Therefore it can be fitted straight out of the box to the trailer, test bench or wherever the acceleration needs to be recorded. The core of the LASI-Kit system is the LG-LASI-000. (Mentioned as “logger”). This module combines 3 devices in one housing (a datalogger, acceleration and gyro sensors and GPS receiver). With connection of a GPS antenna (separately available) the reception of GPS coordinates with 6.25Hz using EGNOS becomes possible. The internal battery allows constant measurements of up to 8 hours. It can be recharged by connecting the logger to any computer or USB charger. The software allows the user easily to extract information out of the data via pre programmed templates and settings. AC-DOC_SY-LASI-Hardware_connection-000 page 4 / 7 2. Connector layout: All connectors are labelled so a misconnection is impossible USB: for downloading the data, zeroing the sensors and charging the internal battery ON/OFF: 20 seconds after the connector is plugged in, the logger will start to record the values(LED blinks green). Upon disconnection the recording is stopped and data are saved. The connector is used instead of a switch to ensure recording even under the event of high G-load shocks. GPS: a GPS mouse can be connected to record driven line, global position and day time. AC-DOC_SY-LASI-Hardware_connection-000 page 5 / 7 3. Mounting the modules 3.1 Mounting the logger 2D Datarecording recommends putting the logger in a safe position where it will not pose any danger in case of an accident. Recommended is a mounting by velcro tape available from 2D. 3.2. Mounting the GPS antenna For optimal signal quality the GPS antenna must have a free visibility towards the GPS satellites. Therefore it should not be covered by any shielding parts. Mounting the antenna on the roof would be the best solution. Double-sided "scratch tape" or velcro works very well to fix the GPS module on indoor locations. The build in magnet of the antenna allows easy and fast mounting on the roof. It keeps the GPS receiver reliable on its place but can be removed easily as well. To check signal reception incoming GPS-data can be displayed online in the 2D software WinIt. AC-DOC_SY-LASI-Hardware_connection-000 page 6 / 7 4. Blink codes On startup: 5 times blinking show the battery status. Every red blink is 20% empty and every green is 20% full. E.g. 3x green and 2x red – are 60% charged battery Operation mode: slow green flashing – no recording Fast green flashing – recording Slow red flashing – USB is connected batteries are charged Fast red flashing – logger is shut down AC-DOC_SY-LASI-Hardware_connection-000 page 7 / 7
