Why the back box when the speaker is recessed in the ceiling?
To protect from debris – Most call-outs for what sounds like a blown speaker is simply debris and grit landing on the upper side of the cone and it rattles when in use.

Audio quality – The size of the back box is calculated to give the speaker optimum performance based on the air capacity against speaker – without the back box, additional performance is lost in the ceiling void.

AVID in-wall amplifier system The AVID in-wall amplifier is available as a system which includes ceiling speakers or wall speakers for classroom use. The 2 x 12W stereo amplifier, which is fitted to a 2-gang wallplate can be installed on your classroom wall or dado conduit mounting.
