H-Field Probe Type 10 REG.NO 572 - 02 Wandel & Goltermann Germany H-Field Probe Type 10 27 MHz to 1 GHz For isotropic measurement of electromagnetic fields . . . . . Frequency range 27 MHz to 1 GHz Digital Axis Processing For telecommunications and broadcasting applications Dynamic range 455 dB Compatible with any EMR-200/-300 Calibration includes: Wandel & Goltermann GmbH & Co. Elektronische Meûtechnik Postfach 12 62 72795 Eningen, Germany . Individually measured frequency response Applications and features The probe is designed for measuring magnetic fields in the frequency range from 27 MHz to 1 GHz, such as may be encountered in telecommunications, and radio or TV broadcasting applications. The wide frequency range for a magnetic field probe means that it covers the main fields in industry and telecommunications, including mobile radio operating at 900 MHz. Calibration It is recommended that the probe be re-calibrated every two years. All calibration data is traceable to national or international standards. The Type 10C probe is supplied with a calibration report for 27 frequencies covering the entire frequency range of the probe. Type 10 Type 10C Typical frequency response (production series average) . Absolute field strength . . Calibration certificate . . Calibration report (with individual data) . Ruggedness The probe is mechanically and electrically designed for field use. It can be carried by the probe head without damaging the sensors. The electrical destruction limit is above 20 A/m for CW signals, well into the range considered to be a health hazard. Function The probes use three separate sensors. The sensor elements for the magnetic field comprise three coils with detector diodes. The three channels are led out separately and processed digitally in the EMR-200/-300. The diode characteristics are compensated out for each channel individually. The three spatial components are then combined as prescribed by the standard to give the equivalent field strength. This ensures that the true RMS value can be represented over a wide measurement range.
