For mobile applications, the printer can be integrated in a housing worn on a belt together with a matching battery, which can be recharged through a simple network adapter. A simple cutout is sufficient to mount the printer with screws from the outside. In desktop housings efficient use of valuable space for other components inside the housing, as the plastic printer housing extends beyond the side of the chassis wall. Optionally, a cover to protect the electronics from improper exposure can be mounted on the back. The data line and the power supply are carried through lockable connectors below. (diagonally) can be printed as graphics with full resolution. The robust drive transports the 60 to 80 µm thick paper from a supply roll with a maximum diameter of 60 mm and a paper length of about 40 m. Excellent Print Results The GPT-4454 prints text and graphics in excellent quality on a width of 104 mm with up to 50 mm per second and 203 dpi onto 114 mm wide thermal paper. The print function itself provides the visualizing of the menu guide and settings. GeBE is not a mass producer of standard printers. The priority is always customer fulfillment – even for small order quantities. For OEM customers, GeBE offers optimal adaptation to the individual requirements. In hardware as well as in software, GeBE’s modular print systems are designed highly flexible. In the production of custom product versions, the high flexibility of the company is demonstrated through short delivery times, among other things. Hard- and software are developed by GeBE, allowing the adaptation of the products to the design vision of the future user. Custom-design keyboard tape and housing in special colors (250 units minimum) are stored until production, therefore keeping the starting cost at the beginning of a custom series to a minimum. Standard tasks on the software side are adaptations or additions of character sets. Beyond that, changes such as command set emulations, are possible. The IR transceiver for the standard version is located on the operating console. Peripheral Expansions The system controller provides internal access to a serial SPI interface that can connect to auxiliary boards with various functions. A buffered real time clock with wake-up function through an alarm register, a magnetic card reader for three tracks, and a serial RS-232 interface with transparent bi-directional data traffic to the host are all included in the standard version. Particularly mobile applications can benefit from the transparent transfer of data from a mobile bar code scanner, a card reader, or an additional keyboard through the wireless interfaces of the print system. The motor of a paper rewinder can be controlled on request.
