Only use the manufacture recommended attachments and batteries with this charger. WARNING! Do not modify the charger, the cable or the plug in any way. Do not use a product with a damaged cable or plug. WARNING! Batteries contain harmful chemicals, dispose of damaged batteries safely and according to local directives. •Intended use of +IonPRO Charger. Charging correctly maintained and functioning batteries within the CEL +IonPRO range which specify this exact charger. Charge only in a safe, dry, clean environment away from flammable materials and gases. •Any application or use of this product which is not described in this document by the manufacturer will be considered misuse and will void all guarantees. •This unit may not be used by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, with a lack of experience and without the appropriate knowledge, unless they are supervised by someone who is responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they cannot be harmed by or cause harm with the product. •Safe use practices must be observed at all times according to common sense and local directives. This product may not be used, carried or stored in an area or environment that is not safe. Safe work areas are clear of obstructions and debris and must be well lit, free from damp, moisture, explosive dust and fumes. At times during work the area must be checked and made safe before work continues. Never use this product with wet hands or clothing or in a wet environment. •Tools and devices must be kept clean and regularly checked for correct operation and safe use. Screws must be secure and debris removed before and after each use. Do not use a device that has loose or incorrectly functioning parts. •Suitable safety equipment must be determined by the user with full knowledge of the materials present and the risks which may result in the proximity or use of these materials and the surrounding environment.
•Particular care must be taken to prevent damage to vision, hearing, breathing and skin. Additional risks from slipping, falling or being crushed can be reduced by the use of suitable equipment and working practises. Ensure all hair, clothing and jewellery is secured so it cannot become tangled and cause additional risk or harm. •Users must be aware of the surrounding area at all times and ensure any danger is removed for themselves and others who may come into that area. Do not use this product while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Rest regularly to avoid increased risk. Work carefully without taking risks to safety. •Before making any adjustments to a device, changing accessories or removing debris, make sure the switch is in the “safe” or “off” position and that it cannot be accidentally started. Additionally ensure the device or its power supply is in the “off” position before fitting a battery or plugging it in. Do not start the device until all fittings and accessories are secured properly and all fitting tools and keys are removed. In the brief periods between operation of the device, you must ensure you or others will not accidentally start the device. Move your fingers away from the “on” switches until you are prepared to start the device. •Do not force the device. Use the correct tool for your application. The correct tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. A straining motor will reduce the battery life considerably. •Store batteries and devices where they can not be accessed by children or untrained users. Stored batteries should be insulated from conductive materials that could cause a short circuit between the terminals or damage parts or housing. Cycle, inspect and test batteries at least once every 3 months, contact your re-seller if there is any question of correct operation. •Protect the battery from heat, for example, from constant sun and fire. There is a risk of explosion from an overheated cell. •There are no user serviceable parts inside this device, do not attempt to open the casing or to recharge using any method other than as described in this user manual. All servicing must be carried out by a qualified and responsible person using matching parts then approved by the manufacturer before use. •In the event of damages or incorrect use, vapours may come out of the battery. Ensure plenty of fresh air and, if you have any symptoms, consult a doctor. These vapours may irritate the respiratory system. •Fluid can escape from the battery when used or stored incorrectly. Avoid all contact with this. In the event of accidental contact, rinse with water. If liquid should get into the eyes, get immediate medical assistance. Battery fluid may result in skin irritations and burns.

Charging NOTE: Lithium Ion batteries are usually supplied partially charged. To ensure full capacity of the battery, completely charge the battery in the correct battery charger before first use. WARNING! To reduce fire risk and possible damage to both battery and charger, never leave the battery on the charger for longer than 24 hours. WARNING! Only use the charger in a clean dry environment which is safe and insulated from flammable materials or conditions. Do not cover Cooling Vents. Do not use an extension cord when charging. Correct Charger Only use supplied battery and charger or a suitable replacement recommended by the manufacturer. Chargers are designed for specific battery types and are not interchangeable, using the wrong charger may damage both parts and cause electrical hazard, fire, explosion or burns. The information plate on your charger will indicate which batteries can be charged. Charging -Connect the charger to a safe and suitable power supply which matches the specification on the rating label of your charger. -Switch the power on and check the Green Power On Indicator is lit. -Slide a compatible battery into the charger so the Alignment Rails allow the battery to easily slide into the charger. -Press down firmly to ensure the Battery Contacts and Charger Contacts have a good connection. -While the battery is charging the Red Charging Indicator will light and the Power On Indicator will go out. A charge from empty to full will take around 30 mins with a 1300mAh battery. -When the battery is fully charged the Red Charging Indicator will go out and the Fully Charged Indicator will light. -If there is an error or the temperature of the battery is too high then the Indicator lights may flash. Remove the battery and allow it to cool before inserting it again.

Insert the battery Align Rails then press the battery into the charger until it engages firmly, ensure it is secure and the Charging Indicator Lights show RED before leaving it to charge.
Charge level Most +IonPRO tools have a charge level display which will indicate the charge level of the battery for a short period when the tool is first switched on, see the documents relevant to the device in use for more detail. Heavy user tip The +IonPRO charger will charge a 1300mAh battery to 80% capacity in under 15 mins then will slowly complete the charge. When using multiple batteries continuously a user can swap batteries before they are fully charged and maintain a high work load. Remember to let batteries cool if they get hot.

Cleaning Before and after every use, check for and remove debris on and around contacts, moving and interlocking parts. Do not use solvent based cleaning products on the plastic parts of this device. Clean, smooth surfaces on metal contacts will make a better circuit when the battery is inserted into a device, use a suitable tool to clean any surface grease or dirt from these contacts. Cycling your battery To ensure best performance throughout its lifetime CEL recommend that at least every 5 uses or 3 months the battery is run down until the tool stops itself then is charged until it is full. Lithium Ion batteries made up of multiple cells require these cells to maintain a voltage balance, unbalanced cells will result in a total failure. 10.8V +IonPRO batteries have 3 cells. The +IonPRO charger can read each cell individually and ensure that each receive the correct charge to maintain this balance. The best way to maintain this balance is to charge the battery from flat occasionally. Faults and Warning indicators The battery circuitry will allow charging only within a temperature range of 0°C to 45°C. If the charger does not respond when the battery is inserted it may be full or if the battery does not supply power to the connected device please go through the care procedures in this document and in the documents relevant to the charger or connected device. Storage Always remove the battery from the tool/charger and store it in a dry, secure place with no conductive materials that can touch the metal contacts and cause a short circuit. Store between 10ºC (50ºF) and 24ºC (75ºF) when not in use. Excessive heat will reduce the lifetime of Lithium cells, cooler conditions are best for storage of all Lithium Ion batteries. An +IonPRO Battery will hold its charge for several months without recharge but should never be stored flat as this may permanently damage the battery, to prevent damage cycle the battery at least once every 3 months.
