Designed for flat panels 60˝ and up.   Denver, CO – CEDIA EXPO 2013 – Sept. 26th – 28th – Booth #SR-1  – Paradigm Electronics Inc. an international leader in speaker design and manufacturing has announced its five-channel Soundscape music and movie soundbar, the latest offering in its popular SHIFT Series. This powered five-channel soundbar, designed to deliver surround sound for larger flat panels, 60˝ and up, boasts four powerful polypropylene woofers, three pure-aluminum dome tweeters and low-turbulence ports, positioned at either end of the bar. Discrete IR commands encourage comprehensive CI. What separates this soundbar from others in its price category? Three things: Build Quality, Price and Performance. With a high quality fit and finish, the affordable Soundscape is stylish yet unobtrusive, simple to install, easy to operate and gives custom integrators the flexibility to tailor the audio experience for the end user. Dedicated movie and music modes allow for a subwoofer, wired in, or wirelessly. Mark Aling, Paradigm’s Senior Director of Marketing says: “Paradigm has been setting the standard for high-performance sound for so many years it should come as no surprise that we are stirring up high-fidelity competition once again in the popular soundbar category. Performance and Value have been side-by-side mantras of our company from day one. One of the reasons we decided to tackle the niche is a lack of affordable high-fidelity options in the category. This one lays particular emphasis on surround sound and superb bass performance.” A soundbar’s typical physical configuration, drivers in line and relatively close together often delivers poor stereo separation and a compromised soundstage. With its 30-year history of award-winning sound reproduction and one of the most comprehensive R&D facilities in the industry, Paradigm’s engineers have achieved an extraordinarily wide soundstage with superb stereo separation. Highs are exquisite, clean and clear, delivered by the three pure-aluminum dome tweeters. Midrange performance is rich and authentic and movie dialog comes through particularly clean and clear. The DSP-based amplifier supplies deep, articulate bass to each of the four high-power polypropylene woofers so that an external subwoofer is welcome, but by no means necessary. Bass aficionados who crave pipe-organ depth can add an external powered sub to the system, such as Monitor SUB 8, and even run the sub wirelessly since Paradigm includes an adaptor plug and wireless subwoofer receiver. The Soundscape offers supreme flexibility in placement, including specific DSP modes, one for on-wall placement, one for placement on a flat surface. The Soundscape’s onboard user interface controls Power, Volume and synching of an external subwoofer. The integrated 7-character display offers navigation of numerous customizable features including: Music and Movie modes, treble/bass adjustments, virtual surround on/off, renaming of sources and IR learning. The system can be configured for use with two separate remotes, one of which could be used for whole-home automation. Soundscape can learn power on/off, source select, volume up/down and mute from a TV’s remote so that both the Soundscape and the TV can be controlled via a single remote. Bluetooth and APTX streaming technologies as well as AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) are included, enabling remote control from Bluetooth sources directly from the Soundscape. This feature allows the user to charge their Bluetooth device from another room while still allowing playback and control via the Soundscape’s remote control or onboard interface. Discrete IR commands for all functions allow for comprehensive custom integration. The driver complement comprises four 4˝ mineral-filled polypropylene cone woofers and three 1˝ satin-anodized pure-aluminum dome tweeters. Driver complements are physically separated within the cabinet, ensuring sonic clarity and channel separation. On the left, a tweeter/bass midrange; on the right, a tweeter/bass midrange combination; and in the center, a tweeter, flanked by a woofer on each side. The complement is arranged in a perpendicular array to achieve the low-profile design. The DSP-based amplifier includes both Dolby Digital and DTS decoding. The Soundscape’s rear panel offers digital optical and analog stereo inputs for hook-up of Blu-ray/DVD/CD players, gaming consoles, satellite receivers and other external sources. Inputs and outputs can be renamed for convenience and include: 2 x Optical SPFIF, 1 x Coax SPDIF, 1 x Analog RCA Right/Left, 1 x Sub-Out and Bluetooth (wireless). Analog outputs are included for wired subwoofer connection. Connections can be made via the soundbar or through the television itself, increasing the amount of inputs and improving the user experience. It’s all easy, and in just a few minutes customers are immersed in their favorite music, movie or video game.
