c Installation Instructions Reinforced Mounting Kit 6824983 for Class IV H-Series Roll Clamps This sheet describes installation of Class IV mounting kit 6824983 for H-Series Roll Clamps. The kit contains spacers and hardware. The baseplate upper outer mounting holes must be enlarged to 22 mm to accept the new upper capscrews. 1 1 Rotate the attachment to the vertical roll handling position. Extend the arms outside the frame width. WARNING: Before removing hydraulic lines or components, relieve pressure in the hydraulic system. Turn truck off and open the truck auxiliary control valve(s) several times in both directions. 4 2 Disconnect and plug the hydraulic supply hoses to the attachment. Tag hoses for reassembly. RC2867.eps 3 Remove lower mounting hooks and spacers. The lower hooks will be reinstalled. Discard spacers and capscrews. 3 4 Set the attachment on the pallet. Tilt the mast forward and lower the carriage to remove the attachment from the truck. 5 Remove upper mounting hooks and spacer plates. The upper hooks and capscrews will be reinstalled. Drill outer mounting holes to 22 mm (4 places) 8 Install kit spacers and hardware. Tighten capscrews as follows: Upper Spacer Plate Inside Capscrews – 122 ft.-lbs. (165 Nm) Upper Spacer Plate Outside Capscrews – 320 ft.-lbs. (435 Nm) Lower Spacer Capscrews – 166 ft.-lbs. (223 Nm) Lower Center Spacer Capscrews – 77 ft.-lbs. (105 Nm) 9 Install upper hooks and capscrews. 236 ft.-lbs. (320 Nm). 10 Tighten capscrews to RC4235.eps Mount attachment on truck, install lower hooks and connect hydraulic supply. Tighten lower hook capscrews 195 ft.-lbs. (265 Nm). For complete installation procedure, refer to Installation Instructions 6077316.
