SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal Integrated Communications Suite
The SkyPoint FlyAway is Knight Sky’s next-generation of satellite terminal, which provides every thing necessary to establish high speed Internet access, in a light weight compact design. The SkyPoint Flyaway Terminal combines the most advanced technologies available today, which include a lightweight rapid acquisition 1.0 Meter antenna, integrated RF feed and transceiver, satellite modem, router and voice PBX. It is packaged in a single transit case, which can be easily transported and operated by a single user. It is an excellent choice for rapid implementation of temporary communications centers at incident sites, for emergency management and special outdoor events.
Features and Benefits of the SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal • Rapid Deployment — The SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal requires no tools for assembly and goes from lid open to signal lock in under 20 minutes. • Lightweight Design — The SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal is comprised of a lightweight carbon fiber reflector and compact integrated RF components. Including the baseband unit, the deployed terminal weight is less than 60 lbs. and when packed into a single IATAcompliant case, it weighs in at 95 lbs. • Ruggedized Outdoor Enclosure — The SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal is built for field operations − it is fully IP65 rated and built to MIL-STD qualifications for temperature, humidity, shock and vibration. This allows it to be deployed in virtually any environment and provide a full range of network access to users wherever they need to operate. The SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal’s compact size reduces the transport and installation footprint typically required to deliver networked communications. • Patented Technology — The SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal’s patented AutoAQYR™ positioner and software provides step-change capability in auto-acquisition of Ku-Band signals thus eliminating the need for manual intervention. Extended Ku-band capability and selectable cross or co-pol operations provide additional flexibility. • Rapid Acquisition — The SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal software algorithms allow for acquisition at a carrier-service level, peaking on transponder signals at a much higher level than other platforms in the market and achieving signal lock in less than 3 minutes. • Streamlined Operations — The SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal is fully operable from the auto positioner or can be accessed through a remote intuitive GUI to manage network profiles, configure satellite settings and view real time updates. The configuration can be set to re-peak at intervals to ensure continuously optimized performance or unattended operation on inclined orbit satellites. The SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal requires minimal user training. • Simplified Network Setup — By packaging a full network stack solution in a single case, the setup time and complexity of a deployed network has been greatly reduced. It is no longer necessary to have a large case with multiple systems and a tangle of cables to deliver broadband communications in a remote location. The outdoor rated baseband unit is mounted directly on the tripod base of the SkyPoint FlyAway Terminal , eliminating the need for long, lossy coax cables from the terminal, so you simply run a standard Ethernet cable or use Wi-Fi to access your network.
