WIRED SD CAMERA & DVR MONITOR – QUICK GUIDE Step 1 Camera: Always make sure your Rugged-Eyes wired camera is clean and dry before use, including the cable and connector. Ideally, make sure the DVR is fully charged before use (be careful not to overcharge the unit). Step 2 DVR: Switch on your Memor-Eyes DVR before switching on the wired camera. To do so, simply press the “standby” button for 3 seconds to switch the DVR on (or off). Step 3 Camera: Once you have mounted the camera (and inserted the wire into the goose neck, and down inside the telescopic pole – if provided), insert the jack connector into the AV in port on the Memor-Eyes DVR monitor. If connected properly you will see images appear on the DVR screen, sent from the wired camera. Step 4 Camera: When the camera is connected to the Memor-Eyes DVR monitor, the LEDs will turn on, and stay on as long as the connection (physical and power) is maintained.
Step 5 DVR: Manipulate the wired camera as required for your inspection, and operate the Memor-Eyes DVR monitor as advised to see live images, take photos (screenshots), and start / stop recording video. Step 6 Camera and DVR: To switch off the wired camera, simply disconnect the connector from the AV in port on the DVR (or switch off the DVR). To switch off the DVR, press the “standby” button for 3 seconds.

CHARGING RESTRICTIONS It is very important that none of our products are overcharged, or charged at a rate unsuitable for the unit’s internal batteries. Rugged-eyes (wired camera):
This unit is powered by the Memor-Eyes internal rechargeable battery (see specification for performance). We recommend that you always power the wired camera from a fully charged Memor-Eyes DVR monitor.
Memor-eyes:
Wireless DVR: 0-100% mains charged in 4 hours minimum (4 bars full battery displayed on screen), but ideally 6 hours for maximum charge. Unit can be charged for less than four hours, if required, but battery life will reflect this (as with any lithium based battery powered devices, do not overcharge the unit or you may permanently damage it). Just like your mobile phone, as with all lithium battery powered devices, even if unused for a period, the unit must be checked and re-charged to 100% capacity at least once every month, in order to be ready for use.
Lithium based batteries reach their optimum performance only once they have been fully charged, and fully discharged a few times. For instance, the battery may charge quicker, or last longer after the third of fourth recharge / discharge from new.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESTRICTIONS
0-40 degrees centigrade is the best working temperature for the wired camera. The wired camera is waterproof and submersible, but not for prolonged periods. The wireless DVR must not be used in areas of high temperature, high humidity. 0-40 degrees centigrade is the best working temperature for the wireless DVR. Do not leave the DVR in direct sunlight, whether the unit is on or off. The wireless DVR is not waterproof, or splash proof, and any moisture should be removed from the DVR body, screen and ports or this may cause a failure of operation.

DATA STORAGE:
Please ensure that the micro SD memory card is inserted correctly, as indicated in the image on the wireless DVR. The memory card should be formatted the first time it is inserted into the wireless DVR, before use. We highly recommend that the user download the data held on the wireless DVR micro SD card at least daily, to reduce any risk of loss of data, however unlikely. Download the data by connecting the mini to standard USB cable (as provided) between the wireless DVR and your laptop / PC (or device that has a standard USB port). Most PC / MAC OS will automatically detect the connection, and open a suitable program for you to download, view and manage video and photo files (i.e. Picasa).
