HDMI Over COAX Extender HCX-1100 Quick Reference Guide 009-0307-01 The Savant HDMI Over COAX Extender (HCX-1100) Quick Reference Guide provides the steps necessary to install the HCX-1100. Features • The Savant HDMI™ over COAX (RGBHV) digital extension solution set takes an HDMI™ signal and extends its distance over 5-connector coaxial cabling. • HDMI™ over COAX is capable of delivering 1080p HDMI™ at extended distances of up to 330 feet (100 meters). • Supports both audio and video signals for large HD displays. • Connects and extends HDMI™ source signals to remote HDMI™ displays over RGBHV. • HDMI™ 1.3 and HDCP compliant • Supports mandatory HDMI™ 1.4 3D resolutions • Both audio and video signals are transmitted digitally over mini-COAX cables. Unpack the Components To unpack and mount the Transmitter and Receiver, refer to the diagram below for connection information and do the following: 1. Open the box and remove the packing. 2. Remove the supplied items from the box (see Box Contents below). Place the components in locations that provide adequate access to the connectors in order to route the power cables and other required signal and control cables. Note: All components requiring 120 VAC, 50/60 Hz source power must obtain it from a surge-protected circuit. 2. Interconnect the components as described in Interconnecting the Units below and shown in the interconnection diagram. This BNC connector outputs 9V DC to the Receiver over COAX cabling. • Blue indicates the transmitter is receiving 9V DC power. • Off indicates the transmitter is not receiving 9V DC power. Interconnect the Units To interconnect the units, do the following: 1. Connect the Transmitter to the HDMI source device such as a router or switch using a HDMI cable. 2. Connect the Receiver to an audio/video device such as a HD Display, DVD, DVR, etc., using a HDMI cable. 3. Interconnect the R, G, B, and CLK BNC connectors on Transmitter and Receiver. These connections route the HDMI signal from the Transmitter to the Receiver. The Transmitter and Receiver units may be up to 330 feet apart. 4. Interconnect the PWR BNC connectors on Transmitter and Receiver. These connections route the 9V DC input power from the Transmitter to the Receiver. 5. Apply power to all connected units. Plug the AC power adapter between a surgeprotected power strip and the DC 9V input connector on the Transmitter. Copyright © 2011 Savant Systems LLC.
