This version of the manual supports two hard disk drive (120GB size each) 4-channel DVR with the non-LAN basic version. Operating Instructions for the DVR Below is a screen shot of the primary "Menu" page (the "Camera and Record Control Menu). Press the "Menu" button to display this menu. MAIN MENU MAIN MENU > RECORD SELECT RECORD MODE RECORD FRAMERATE VIDEO QUALITY RECORD SCHEDULE SUB MENU HARD DISK DRIVE SETUP MOTION & SENSOR SETUP HDD REC SEQUENCE PRESS(UP,DOWN), THEN(SELECT) PRESS(MENU) TO EXIT 1 ---EACH 30 NORMAL MASTER CAMERA SELECT There are 4 camera channels that can be connected to the DVR. Use the key buttons on the front panel to select the camera for real-time viewing on the TV screen. CH1 (Camera 1) CH2 (Camera 2) CH3 (Camera 3) CH4 (Camera 4) If you connect camera to DVR, automatically check the camera contact and loss. RECORD SELECT Selected camera channel is RECORDED. This operation selected by 1, 2, 3, 4, all key on front pannel. 2 RECORD MODE There are two different record mode : EACH and QUAD When you set your DVR to "EACH" mode, you can view the images of each camera displayed individually in a full screen by using the key buttons on the pannel of the DVR. When you set your DVR on "QUAD" mode, you can see the images from the cameras in a quad screen, which shows four sections on the single TV screen. VIEW CONTROL In EACH mode, you can use the following keys to select the camera that you want to see in full screen. This View button controls FULL SCREEN display from CH1 (Camera 1) This View button controls FULL SCREEN display from CH2 (Camera 2) This View button controls FULL SCREEN display from CH3 (Camera 3) This View button controls FULL SCREEN display from CH4 (Camera 4) All screen: All images from 4 cameras are displayed at the same time in 4 separate sections on a single screen. RECORD FRAMERATE Factory default setting is 30, which means the DVR records the events at the speed of 30 shots of frames per second. The higher the record frame rate, the more natural motion will be displayed on the screen when you playback. The lower the record frame rate, the more you can save space on the hard disk drive. There are 100 different record frame rate sets that you can choose. VIDEO QUALITY There are three different video quality settings: NORMAL, LOW, HIGH The higher video quality, the clearer image you'll see when you playback. The lower the video quality, the more space you can on the hard disk drive. 3 RECORD SCHEDULE You can change a recording schedule during a day (24-hour period) using this option. If the sensor device is attached to the DVR, it will add additional function to your recording. (T) letter indicates non-stop automatic recording. (S) letter indicates sensor recording. It means to the DVR, receives movement signals in front of the camera. (__) It means that noting will be during this period. SUB MENU SUB MENU > PASSWORD CHANGE TIME SET CHANNEL ROTATION TIME PRESS(UP,DOWN), THEN(SELECT) PRESS(MENU) TO EXIT 4 02 PASSWORD CHANGE *Use the view control button on the front panel t ① When you select, "PASSWORD CHANGE", a password input menu replaces the "Sub Menu". (This is a Initial Password: 111111, before you change it) ⑴ You will, then, be asked to input the next 3 pieces of information: CURRENT NEW CONFIRM is "1" is "2" ⑵ When the new password is accepted, the board will flash the following screen message: "Password changed" is "3" is "4" PASSWORD : -----PASSWORD : -----PASSWORD : ------ ⑶ The message will blink 3 times. ⑷ Then the "SUB MENU" will return. If the password is not accepted, you will receive a message that informs you that it hasn't been accepted. The "SUB MENU" returns. You may try again by repeating the same steps. TIME SET You can change time/date/hour/year using TIME SET menu. TIME SET (YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS) 2003/01/01 01:01:00 CHANGE TIME FORMAT PRESS(UP,DOWN), THEN(SELECT) PRESS(MENU) TO EXIT [This represents year/month/day and hour/minute/second] Use the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons on the front panel to move the cursor "∧" below the number back and forth. Then use the "SELECT" button to change the numberic values of date & time. 5 HARD DISK FORMAT When you press the "SELECT" key, you will be prompted to input a password when the hard disk format menu appears. PASSWORD INPUT(6) : _ _ _ _ _ _ When you key in the correct password, the following message will flash 3 times, "Password Correct". Otherwise, the following error message will be displayed on the screen "Password Incorrect". RECORD CONTROL When the "RECORD" button is pressed, the recording process starts immediately. The recording channel indicator appears next to CH1, CH2, CH3, CH4 in the center of the screen to indicate which camera is running during recording period. PLAYBACK CONTROL Playback Control: ⑴ When the (Play) button "PLAY" is pressed, you will be asked to select the time that you want to watch the recorded video. Full screen playback is available only when the camera record selection is on "EACH" mode. To pause playback, press the "PAUSE" key. To play again, press the "PLAY" key. For fast forward playback, the "FF" key. For fast reverse playback, press "REW" key. OVERWRITE ENABLED: If you choose YES, recording continues and overwrites previous recording when hard disk drive space is full. If you choose NO, the recording session stops when all hard disk drive is full for recording. 2. MASTER HDD SIZE: It shows the size of the primary hard disk drive installed in the DVR. 3. MASTER HDD USED: It shows the space used on the first hard disk drive for recording. 4. MASTER HDD FORMAT: If you format the hard drive, it whill erase all the data recorded on the first hard disk drive. 5. SLAVE HDD SIZE: It shows the space the secondary hard disk drive has in the DVR. 7 6. SLAVE HDD USED: It shows the space used on the secondary hard disk drive for recording. 7. SLAVE HDD FORMAT: If you format the hard drive, it whill erase all the data recorded on the secondary hard disk drive. SENSOR RECORDING TIME The number indicates how long the sensor recording lasted since it detected movement signals. 2. ALARM OUT TIME It controls how long (in seconds) the alarm lasts after it set off. 3. There are 3 different mode for sensor setting: NOT INSTALLED, NORMAL-CLOSE and NORMAL-OPEN. 4. Each channel motion sensor is controlled by channel selection. CHANNEL-1 CHANNEL-2 CHANNEL-3 CHANNEL-4 TYPE:NORMAL-CLOSE TYPE:NORMAL-OPEN TYPE:NORMAL-CLOSE TYPE:NORMAL-OPEN In NORMAL-CLOSE mode, if an intruder cuts off the cable line that connects the sensor to the DVR, the sensor recording starts. In NORMAL-OPEN mode, if the cable line connects the sensor to the DVR is cut off by an intruder, the sensor recording doesn't start at all. 8 HDD REC SEQUENCE HDD REC SEQUENCE Press "SEL" key to change 1. Master : Master only record mode. 2. Slave : Slave only record mode 3. MS_CIR : Master and Slave HDD circulated. Master HDD is recorded first. 4. SM_CIR : Slave and Master HDD circulated. Slave HDD is recorded first. 5. NO_REC : Not Recorded when pressed "REC" key PRESS(UP,DOWN), THEN(SELECT) PRESS(MENU) TO EXIT CAUTION! 1. A jumper setting on the main board may be used to convert the operation to PAL. 9
