$# ! 034" Ofceaster Gate UC can be combined with the Ofceaster Suite for faxes SS and voicemail. » Upgrading the Ofceaster Gate to include unied messaging functions requires licenses on a per line basis and a communication partner in the form of the Ofceaster Suite and the correspondingly licensed lines.
,5,5 !, 036" Calls between SIP and ISDN are passed through as a default function of the media gateway1 however calls between two SIP subscribers require an internal loopback. his loopback is referred to as a back-to-back user agent (&&UA" and is the basis for connecting external SIP devices to the icrosoft Lync server. » SIPSIP is licensed according to the number of concurrent channels employed.
A call from a Lync subscriber to a SIP subscriber not connected via Lync takes up one channel.

7 !, 033" Very few enterprises have a homogeneous I and telecommunications infrastructure. 2hen operating Ofceaster Gate as a media gateway for icrosoft Lync it is often the case that a portion of users are served by a conventional PBX system and others by a Lync server. For these scenarios Ferrari electronic offers a tool that automatically maintains a list of all Lync users along with their communications data. he tool is implemented as a service on a server in the corresponding domain and keeps Ofceaster Gate supplied with a current list of users. his list is either compiled from queries on AD or imported from nearly any le. he synchronization interval for this service is congurable. Once this list is entered into the routing table of the Ofceaster Gate changes to user settings no longer have to be entered into the gateway. his additional tool makes Ofceaster Gate the ideal choice between the exchange line and the PBX/Lync server. » Licensing depends on the number of Ofceaster Gates employed.
,5 !, 03138133" icrosoft Lync communicates exclusively via the SIP protocol and has outsourced all other technologies to the gateway manufacturers. Additional software is required to fully integrate external devices into Lync. 2ith Ofceaster SIPLync Ferrari electronic offers a software solution that ensures that subscribers can see no difference to QtrueQ Lync endpoints. he phones ring at the same time as the other instances where the user is registered and presence information is updated to reBect the endpoint status. Ofceaster SIPLync is described in detail on a separate data sheet.
9 !, 03" he decision to completely replaced a telephone PBX system by icrosoft Lync can produce some surprises=like Tust how essential some analog functions really are. A typical example is a door intercom which is usually connected via telephony. Ofceaster Gate transfers the call from the video door intercom to the Lync server and displays it in the receptionist's Lync client. Ofceaster EntryControl simultaneously shows the video signal on the workstation screen. A click on the door-opener button grants access and terminates the connection. » EntryControl is licensed per intercom system

0GmDF.BTUFS4*1-ZOD ) '## $': # $ # For the integration of third-party phone endpoints icrosoft Lync has the concept of QAnalog DevicesQ which in turn are associated with a certied media gateway which manages the devices. hese endpoints are functional but very limited because among other things they cannot serve as an additional instance for a Lync user and there is no presence information.
,5 #; 2ith Ofceaster SIPLync Ferrari electronic offers a software solution to make it possible to use third-party phone devices as full-Bedged Lync devices. Above all the frequently requested integration of DEC infrastructure can be implemented with software of this type. For participants there is no apparent difference to QtrueQ Lync endpoints. he phones ring at the same time as the other instances where the user is registered and presence information is updated to reBect the endpoint status.

From a technical standpoint it is a trusted application that simultaneously logs on to a front-end server as a phone instance for selected users and thereby handles all calls for this user. Conversely the software can also initiate phone calls for which all Lync user settings (policies dial plan etc." apply. SIPLync also allows non-system phones to be connected to the monitoring server for analysis of the Call Detail Records (CDR". * # +,5 < < # => Ofceaster Gate translates between icrosoft SIP echnologies and third-party endpoints. he latter register themselves on the gateway (whereby the registration or deregistration over SIPLync is included in the overall user presence". It is also possible to connect conventional telecommunications systems using a cross connection which in turn control phones.
Ofceaster SIPLync is a software component that is installed on a 2indows Server. he application can be installed as a service or run as a console program (particularly for test purposes". In both cases starting and stopping it is done using the conguration software. he conguration of SIPLync is remarkably easy and is automated or supported by a wizard. Provisioning is done here (nothing needs to be prepared in the topology nor on the Lync Server" as well as the certicate request and assignment. SIPLync requires user data to operate. A Bexible wizard allows you to import data from external les or directly from Active Directory. Subsequent modications are always possible. » Ofceaster SIPLync licenses are user-dependent and require the SIPSIP Lines upgrade (/6"
» All phones that are connected to the phone system in this way can have a presence in Lync+

0GmDF.BTUFS&OUSZ$POUSPM Supports Video Door Phones together with Microsoft Lync ! )" The decision to migrate from a legacy PBX to Microsoft Lync may produce surprises, like just how essential some analog or other special devices still are. A typical example are door intercoms. Conventional systems are based on a telephony connection. Increasingly companies also require to include a video image of the visitors for security reasons. They want to know who is on their doorstep before they open up, and preferably even before answering the call.
9 #; 2hen a visitor rings the doorbell, the Microsoft-qualied media gateway OfceMaster Gate forwards the call to the Lync Server, which in turn rings the receptionist‘s Lync client. OfceMaster EntryControl displays a video window on the screen at the same time. The receptionist can speak with the visitor, and a click on the door-opener button grants access and terminates the connection.
» Visitors waiting at the door are shown in a separate video window.

- 9 The solution includes an administrative tool which creates and maintains a special group in Active Directory (default name „Doorphones“). For each licensed Video Door Phone also a Lync Analog Device is created which represents the door phone. The associated contact object is added to the AD group via the administration tool. In addition for each device all details like IP address of video, type of phone and credentials to pull the video stream are congured there. Also the necessary control code to activate the door opener and further details can be congured. From a technical point of view the audio and video paths are handled separately. The Door Phone initiates a phone call to the OfceMaster Gateway which translates it to an incoming call to Lync from a known Lync Analog Device. The connection to the gateway can be made through SIP or analog ports, depending on the type of device. Lync will direct the call to the congured or dialed destination which may be a single user or even a Response Group. The clients handle this like any other phone call. All participating clients also are running OfceMaster EntryControl software which monitors incoming calls in the background and knows about all members of the „Door-
» Conguring a Video Door Phone
phones“ group in AD. As soon as an inbound call from one of these devices is seen, a separate video window appears and the video stream is pulled from the door phone and shown there. Thus it is possible to see who is at the door even before that call is answered. The video window also contains buttons to answer the call and/or to open the door and end the call. @ 75 $##> Devices typically contain both a telephony part and a camera. It is also possible to combine a voice only device with a separate video camera from a different vendor. OfceMaster EntryControl is tested with devices from leading manufacturers, e.g.: ƒ 2N ƒ Mobotix ƒ Axis ƒ Grandstream ƒ Siedle (analog via Grandstream ]onverter) ƒ TCS ƒ most other devices using M^PEG streaming ƒ more devices will be added
