These platforms are truly open, either install available operating system and application software that suits your needs, or build your own customized security device that represents a solid future-proof investment. The flexible platforms support a range of fixed and module-based Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. The designs include internal SATA hard disk drives and PCIe/mini-PCI expansion ability, all contained within a single 1RU rack-mount or desktop form-factor. The SAF4121I platform supports a wide range of CPUs and configuration options to meet the required demand. In addition, this platform supports the Intel® Data Plane Development Kit (Intel® DPDK) for software applications, which significantly boosts packet processing throughput on Intel® multi-core architectures. This device is ideal as an enterprise network security appliance, branch office router, or media and communications appliance.
