PLEASE PRINT FULL NAMES AND SCORES CLEARLY Any fill-in player must be indicated as a fill-in player. Teams must be listed for all sets on the team sheet, then exchanged by the captains before the start of play. All matches to start by 9am Juniors & 1pm Seniors. If after 15mins from start time two sets haven’t commenced; set forfeited. Seniors lose a set every 30 mins thereafter. Juniors forfeit match if not commenced by 9.30am. 5. The next available set must start within 10 mins or when courts available. 6. All results must be communicated to the recording officer by 7pm match day, if faxed, emailed or phone messages no later than 11am Sunday. 7. Both captains shall sign the score sheet certifying that the results are correct, don’t sign if not sure or disagree. 8. Winning and losing sides must send in their score sheets to the recording officer by the following Wednesday. 9. A substitute approved by the opposing captain shall be allowed to take place of and injured or ill player in subsequent sets (but not during a set). 10. In the event of inclement weather the whole team has the right to vote on match cancellation, availability of courts to be taken into account. 11. If temperature in shade reaches 38 degrees match to be called off. If one player is distressed and unable to continue match to be cancelled. Sets played stand, remaining sets shared. 12. If a team is in a position where they cannot lose (including unfinished sets) they will be deemed to have won and get bonus points. 13. If in juniors one hour and seniors 2 hours of play is lost due to bad weather, the match will be declared a wash out. 14. Juniors section 1-5 (under 18 as of 1 Oct) First to 6 games and with a margin of two games. Tie-breaker at 6 all if required. 15. Juniors section 6 (under 13 as of 1 Oct) First to 6 games no tie-breaker. 16. Juniors section 7 (under 12 as of 1 Oct) 2 serves each, no tie-breaker and sudden death (next point after deuce wins the game). Finals to play first to 6 games no tie-breaker. TIE BREAKER SCORING SYSTEM (RULES 27 FROM THE OFFICIAL RULES OF TENNIS) The tie-breaker shall operate when the score reaches 6 games all (juniors) 8 games all (seniors). i. The player whose turn it is to serve shall be the server for the first point. This shall be from the right side of the court. ii. The opponent shall be the next server and shall serve for the second and third points from left side and the right side of the court. iii. Each player shall alternately serve for two consecutive points until the first to win seven points is the winner, provided they lead by a margin of two points. If the score reaches six points all, the game shall be extended until this margin has been achieved. iv. After each six points, players shall change ends. NEW POINT SCORING SYSTEM FOR (ALL GRADES) JUNIOR / SENIOR PENNANT i. One point scored for each set won. ii. Two points scored for overall games winner. iii. Team scoring most points is match winner. iv. Four wash outs, cancellations or draws, match points split (ie 9 set match + 2 bonus points = 5 ½ points each). v. In the event of a match commencing and then match being washed out, scores for sets played will be awarded with the points from the remaining unplayed sets to be shared. vi. For byes 6 points given. For forfeits 7 points given.
