________________________________________________________________________________ TESTING EASY CAEN SYSTEM. 1. Easy 3000 and A3486 48V service. An external Power supply provides the 48V service voltage for the A3486 converter. Its max current is in the range of 2A. On the A3486 : - The first output CH1 provides the 48V service for the EASY 3000 crate. - The second ouput CH1 provides the 48V power for the EASY 3000 crate. 2. A3486 STATUS input. Refer to page 12 on A3486 note for infos. 3. A3486 Sense line. Each 48V output can be used with sense-lines. In Velo final Lv configuration, sense-lines will not be used because the EASY3000 crate is close to the converter ( 2m max) 1 ________________________________________________________________________________ 4. EASY bus Pay attention on switch termination configuration. 5. LV connectors . Sense line connector : the sense line cable is the MCA26 cer’s cable, AWG 24. LV cable distribution The LV distribution is made of a set of two cables. 2 ________________________________________________________________________________ - 5 pairs are used for the hybrid supply - 2 pairs are used for the positive driver supply - 2 pairs are used for the negative driver supply - 3 pairs are used for the sense line. The wire copper cross section is 0,5mm2 The max. cable length is 5m and not 8m as above. All voltage drops and numbers are given for a cable length of 8m. For testing hybrid, individual twisted wires with a length of 5m can be used following cross section given by the number of pairs used in the cable. The next figure gives the connection of the cable 1 on the RPT side. The cable connector is a 25 DSUB female connector. 3 ________________________________________________________________________________ 4 ________________________________________________________________________________ The RPT LV card is fed by the internal LV strap. The figure above shows the LV internal cable strap. 5 ________________________________________________________________________________ The cable 2 is the 60m LV cable. The cross section of a wire is 1mm2. - 6 pairs are used for the hybrid supply - 4 pairs are used for the positive driver voltage - 4 pairs are used for the negative driver voltage - the sense lines run on the MCA26 cable from the connection point between the cable 1 and 2. ON A TWISTED PAIR. ONE WIRE IS USED FOR THE FORWARD CURRENT, THE OTHER CABLE WIRE IS USED FOR THE RETURN PATH. The connection between the cable 2 and the LV A3009 module is done with individual cables with a cross section of 2,5mm2 and a max length of 3m. 6
