POWER Locking Receptacles-Fully Secure the Last Link in Your Power Chain Geist now offers IEC C13 and C19 receptacles with an integrated locking feature. Built within the receptacle housing, the integrated locking mechanism is protected against vibration and external elements that can easily dislodge external locking clips or guides. This self-contained locking mechanism works with any standard IEC plug. Because the locking receptacle is compatible with any C14 or C20 plug, you won’t need to modify cords or connectors, nor will you be forced to buy specially equipped plugs to mate with the receptacles. A locked plug is easily released by depressing the tab located on the receptacle. There are no special tools or equipment necessary and no special cords to buy. • The security of locking receptacles is a must for environments with stringent uptime requirements. • IEC standards allow plug removal forces from as low as 4.5N (~1 lb. of force) to as high as 60N (~13 lbs of force). This wide allowable range means plugs can be dislodged with just 1lb of force applied. This means some could conceivably fall out easily from the weight of their cord alone. Locking receptacles are standard on some Geist PDUs and available for custom orders. Call for details.
