Data Sheet – 114-92029 Fire Survival Optical Fiber Cable
Gel filled loose tube containing up to 24, 250 µm optical fibers Rodent resistant glass yarns Inner ULSZH jacket Corrugated steel tape Outer ULSZH jacket
Description: AMP NETCONNECT Fire Survival Optical Fibre Cable is for installations where signal continuity during a fire is required e.g. tunnels, subways etc. All fibers are contained within a single gel filled loose tube. The construction contains rodent resistant glass yarns, an inner Universal Low Smoke Zero Halogen (ULSZH) jacket, Corrugated Steel Tape Armour (CST) and finally an outer ULSZH jacket.
Standards Compliance: IEC 60794 – Optical Fiber Cable Specifications IEC 60331-25 – Circuit integrity optical fiber cables IEC 60332 part 1 and 3C – Tests on optical fiber cables under fire conditions IEC 61034 – Smoke density IEC 60754 – Halogen acid gas emissions ISO 11801 – Generic cabling for customer premises
Specification (text in brackets [ ] requires a choice): All cable constructions consist of [two, four, six, eight, twelve, sixteen or twenty-four] primary coated 250µm [singlemode, OM1, OM2, OM3, OM3+ (OM4)] fibers. All fibers are colour coded in accordance with EIA/TIA 598C and contained within a single gel filled loose tube. Rodent resistant glass yarns surround the loose tube, followed by a ULSZH inner jacket, CST armour and finally an outer ULSZH jacket. The cable is tested in accordance with IEC 60331-25: circuit integrity and is able to maintain a signal whilst being subjected to flame temperatures of 750 °C for 90 minutes, and then a subsequent cooling time of 15 minutes.
