Sony SXRDTM (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) panel technology offers High Definition resolution and high quality contrast ratio. Three SXRDTM panels for red, green and blue results in film quality picture smoothness.
In a Sony 3LCD projector, the picture is created using three Sony 3LCD panels for the red, green and blue colour signal. This results in bright, naturally coloured pictures, with more detail.

Each product within the range has been specifically designed with the end user in mind. Numerous features have been incorporated across the range with the specific aim of ensuring that the user’s enjoyment of the product is enhanced. Please see the specification for each model for further information and refer to the glossary table featured on the inside cover for explanations of each feature.
The fan continues to cool the projector after the power supply is removed, enabling users to unplug the projector immediately after use, without damaging the lamp. (Other projectors need to be cooled and remain connected to the power supply after use.)
Direct Power On/Off The projector can be set to skip the standby mode, so that it can be turned on or off directly using a mains switch.
Trigger Output This output gives a 12 Volt current when switching the projector on, enabling it to connect and operate other equipment such as an electrical screen or light dimmers.
Monitor Out The projector can display the image simultaneously on a large screen and on an additional monitor (via a 15-pin D Sub connection), so that the user can face the audience and still see the information being shown.
Network Capability Suitable for integration in larger systems and connection to a Local Area Network (LAN).

When this function is activated a password is required to use the projector (if the password is lost, Sony is able to retrieve it).
Digital processing delivers reduced picture noise, resulting in clearer images with less pictorial degradation.
Control Panel Lock
New High Definition I/P Converter
This function locks the controls on the top and side of the projector, to prevent unauthorised or unintentional use of the controls. Functionality can be switched ‘on’ or ‘off’.

Memory Stick™ Photos (JPEG, DCF), video clips (MPEG1) and Microsoft PowerPoint files saved as JPEGs can be viewed directly from the projector using Memory Stick™ media*. BMP and TIFF files can be projected by converting them to JPEG files, using the supplied Projector Station for Presentation software. There is no need for a PC. Single, Dual and Quad Screen Options
90º Tilt
Multiple screen capability. In quad-mode, four quadrants of full HD images can be projected simultaneously. In dual-mode, two images can be projected and in single-mode, a smooth ultra high resolution image is projected.
This 90º Tilt function will adjust the picture position by 90º, whilst still projecting a correctly proportioned image.

Sony 3LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Panel Technology
Sony have developed and manufactured its own LCD panels (largest on the market) for many years, starting in 1992. These 3LCD panels are mounted onto a prism block, which combines the red, green and blue light signals into one picture. The Benefits of 3LCD Projectors: • Higher Detail • Brighter Picture • Natural Colour
Higher Detail and Brighter Picture 3LCD projectors achieve fine-gradation in dark areas, while the high light efficiency of 3LCD technology ensures good focus and vivid colours, even when the picture is viewed in normal lighting conditions. Furthermore, 3LCD projectors do not suffer from the “rainbow” effect that can affect some other projection technologies, such as DLP. The “rainbow effect” is a flash of colour striping when the viewer looks slightly to the left or right of the object they are focusing on in the picture. Natural Colour In Sony 3LCD projectors, the picture is created using three different LCD panels. White light from a high-density lamp is split into red, green and blue beams using diachroic mirrors. The beams pass through the three LCD panels before being reassembled by a prism and projected onto the screen. This results in bright, naturally coloured pictures, with more detail and increased contrast, delivering a better dynamic range than most other projection technologies.

Sony SXRDTM (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) Panel Technology With the experience gained from 3LCD panel manufacturing Sony have developed a new and enhanced technology called SXRDTM, which further strengthens the Sony projector range. The Benefits of SXRDTM Projectors: • High Quality, High Definition Pictures • High Contrast Ratio • Images Free from Motion Blur High Quality, High Definition Pictures The Silicon X-tal Reflective Display (SXRDTM) technology has been designed by Sony to perform like 35mm movie film. SXRDTM virtually vanishes the ‘screen door effect’, which is the pixel grid being seen on screen, by using narrow inter-pixel spacing of 0.35µm. A Sony SXRDTM Projector employs three SXRDTM panels, one for each colour (red, green and blue). Each panel has over two million (1920x1080) enabled square pixels resulting in 6.22 million active pixels. SXRDTM delivers an extremely life like picture that is simply breathtaking. The result is film quality smoothness and a tremendous increase in clarity. High Contrast Ratio In every type of projector system, displaying absolute black is a major issue in order to achieve a high contrast ratio. In other words, the contrast ratio of a projector depends on how effectively the light from the source can be blocked so it does not leak through the panel device. Since SXRDTM is a reflective device, higher contrast ratios can be achieved. Free from Motion Blur For a smooth rendering of images, SXRDTM has a rapid 2.5 milli second response time, which enhances crisp and vivid image reproduction. Consequently, SXRDTM projectors are free from motion blur – a particularly significant benefit for visuals that include fast-moving objects.
