Figure 4 — Connect the Turbo Nozzle Extension to the Spray Gun. 7 A C Th eR el ia bl eO ne s G E N E R Generac 1300PSI High Pressure Washer STOPPING YOUR PRESSURE WASHER CAUTION! The turbo nozzle produces an extremely high pressure spray which is capable of removing paint and cutting holes through surfaces if held too close. Always make sure the surface you will clean will not be damaged by the high pressure spray by testing in a hidden area. • If the pressure washer is running, release the trigger. DANGER! Releasing the trigger will shut off the motor but does not shut off the unit. You must also place the Master On/Off Switch to the “OFF” position. • Place Master On/Off switch in “Off” position. Simply shutting OFF motor will not release pressure in the system. Squeeze the trigger on the gun to relieve the pressure in the hose. Note: You cannot apply detergent with the turbo nozzle. Applying Detergent With Foamer IMPORTANT: Use soaps designed specifically for pressure washers. Household detergents could damage the pump. NOTE: Never use garden hose inlet to siphon detergent or wax. DANGER: Never leave your pressure washer unattended even when turned off. DANGER: You MUST attach all hoses and the spray gun before you start the motor. HOW TO USE YOUR WASHER WARNING! Before removing any spray gun extension, be sure to turn off the pressure washer and relieve pressure by pressing the trigger. You could be injured if you try to remove an extension if the pressure washer is running and there is pressure in the system. Pressure washers are useful cleaning tools designed to clean almost any surface in two easy steps. You now should know how to START your pressure washer and how to STOP it. The information in this section will tell you how to adjust the spray pattern and apply detergent or any other cleaning chemicals. • First, apply an appropriate detergent/solvent solution to penetrate and loosen grime. Apply detergent at low pressure to avoid splashing, overspraying and waste. Leave the solution on surface for 3 to 5 minutes to allow solution to work. Reapply as necessary to keep solution from drying. How to Use the Turbo Nozzle The turbo nozzle rotates the high pressure stream in a rapid circular pattern. The high pressure spray is most effective when the tip of the wand is held between 8 to 24 inches from the surface being cleaned. • The second step involves cleaning the surface you have prepared with the pressure washer and then rinsing it clean. Always start the turbo nozzle at a distance, gradually getting closer to the surface until you get the cleaning force you want. 8 R EOnes Nble Eelia GThe R Generac 1300PSI High Pressure Washer C A Figure 9 — Connecting the Foamer. To apply detergent follow these steps: • Detach the turbo nozzle extension from the spray gun. • To rinse, YOU MUST, stop the pressure washer, remove the foamer and connect the adjustable nozzle extension. Note Detergents are most effective applied to a dry surface. • Remove the bottle from the foamer. • Align the locking tabs on the foamer with the groves in the gun. Push inward and twist clockwise to lock in place. (Note: make sure that when you lock the foamer into place you have the hose that connects to the foamer bottle hanging downward.) To Clean Start at lower portion of area to be washed and work upward, using long, even overlapping strokes. Detergent or degreaser works best when you apply it to a dry surface first. Let it set for 3–5 minutes before washing and rinsing. • Prepare your detergent solution as required by the manufacturer and fill bottle with the solution. • Attach bottle back onto foamer making sure the bottle hangs down. Rinse • Start washer and apply detergent to a dry surface, starting from the bottom and working up. Start at the top of area to be rinsed, working down with the same action as for cleaning. 9 A C Th eR el ia bl eO ne s G E N E R Generac 1300PSI High Pressure Washer CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAINTENANCE PURGE PUMP OF AIR AND CONTAMINANTS To remove the air from the pump, follow these steps: • Set up the pressure washer as described in the ASSEMBLY section and connect the water supply. The warranty of the high pressure washer does not cover items that have been subjected to operator abuse or negligence. To receive full value from the warranty, operator must maintain high pressure washer as instructed in this manual. • Remove the turbo nozzle extension from the gun. • Pull the trigger on the gun and hold. BEFORE EACH USE To remove the contaminant from the pump, follow these steps: • Set up the pressure washer as described in the ASSEMBLY section, connect the water supply and start the pressure washer according to instructions in the OPERATION section. Check and Clean Inlet Screen Remove garden hose connector and examine the inlet screen. Clean if clogged or replace the inlet screen if damaged. • Remove the turbo nozzle extension from the gun. Check High Pressure Hose • Pull the trigger on the gun and hold. • When the water supply is steady and constant, you may refasten the turbo nozzle extension and use pressure washer normally. DANGER: Water spraying from a leak is capable of injecting material into skin. Inspect hose each time before using it. Never repair high pressure hose. Replace it with another hose that meets minimum pressure rating of your pressure washer. High pressure hose can develop leaks from wear, kinking, and abuse. Check all hoses for cuts, leaks, abrasions or bulging of cover, or damage or movement of couplings. If any of these conditions exist, replace hose immediately. PREPARING THE UNIT FOR STORAGE Water should not remain in the unit for long periods of time. Sediments of minerals can deposit on pump parts and “freeze” pump action. If you do not plan to use the Pressure Washer for more than 30 days, follow this procedure: Check Gun and Wand 1. Shut off the pressure washer, unplug it and let it cool, then remove all hoses. Examine hose connection and make sure it is secure. Test trigger by pressing it and making sure it springs back into place when released. Put safety latch in ON position and test trigger. You should not be able to press trigger. 2. Store the pressure washer and its components in such a way as to protect it from freezing. 5. Store in a clean, dry area. Ideally, the unit should be stored in a frost–free room. 6. Coil the high pressure hose and inspect it for damage. Cuts in the hose or fraying of it could result in leaks and loss of pressure. Should any damage be found, replace the hose. DO NOT attempt to repair a damaged hose. Replace the hose with the genuine Generac part. 7. Drain water from hose and properly store it to prevent cuts and general wear. 10 R EOnes Nble Eelia GThe R Generac 1300PSI High Pressure Washer C A Troubleshooting Points Problem Pressure washer will not start.
