Description
To keep pace with the fast deployment of services, cable operators need to consider flexibility and functionality as key elements in their selection of technology solutions. The RCE 4x16 has been designed to be installed in either a hub or headend location with its primary function being to provide additional input/output ports for the RCD-1002. The RCE 4x16 can also be installed in any current network as a stand-alone unit. The RCE-4x16 unit is comprised of 16 individual 4:1 combiners (or 1:4 splitters). By releasing the drop-down front panel, the user has access to a pad (JXP style) in each input (or output) port. In addition, by changing an internal jumper assembly, two adjacent 4:1 splitters/ combiners can be combined into one 8:1 splitter/combiner allowing for various combinations of 4:1 or 8:1 splitters or combiners.
▼ The RCE 4X16 provides additional input/ output ports for the RCD-1002. ▼ Easily configurable from 4:1 to 8:1 splitter/ combiner. ▼ Each input/output can be individually padded with JXP-type attenuators.
Installation Examples: 1. Connect the input of the RCE 4x16 to either of the auxiliary outputs of the RCD-1002 and you have four outputs for that specific node in a 1:1 ratio without service disruption. 2. Connect the input of the RCE 4x16 to the last output of a 4:1 grouping and you have an additional four outputs of this specific grouping without service disruption.
