1Cam Mk5
SD Live SD color zoom HD and stills recording Designed as a main SD color 10x zoom camera with 6-24MP digital stills and HD recording. Rather than upgrading expensive infrastructure, this camera represents a low cost solution to get HD and Stills capability. The stock model includes built in parallel lasers, external strobe output, programmable intervals, IR filter and many more features to help minimize time at sea. Rated to 6500m standard in Titanium and Sapphire. See sample video captured with the 1Cam product range.
Options LiquidOptics: Water corrected optics have been developed for a very wide field of view with low distortion and chromatic aberration (CA). Low Cost: to fit any budget, we have created the 1Cam Lite option which removes the digital stills and HD recording. The 1Cam Lite can be upgraded later to the Mk5. Long Line Driver: to work with long cables, SubC has developed an internal video conditioner, which has been tested at distances greater than 500m over coax. For detailed technical information, please contact SubC or your local distributor. Custom product configurations are available. Newfoundland, Canada +1 709-702-0395 www.SubCImaging.com
Other advanced options include Ethernet downloading and control, manual voltage controls, custom triggered events, anti-corrosion - this product can be customized for your application.

1Cam Mk5 Lite Live SD and HD color zoom
Designed as an affordable 10x optical zoom main color camera - offering the same outstanding video quality as the 1Cam Mk5 at a lower price. See sample video captured with the 1Cam product range. When packaged with a SubC DVRO it creates a very capable live HD and SD video system. It includes integrated green lasers, an external lamp or laser connection and is also available with LiquidOptics.
The 1Cam MK5 Lite has the potential of the enhanced features of a MK5 as the subsea project evolves with a simple upgrade.

1Cam Mk5 with SD video over long distances With the long line driver option, the camera is equipped with a video signal amplification system specially designed by SubC to compensate signal losses in extensive lengths of cable, allowing successful transmission of live standard definition video over coax in depths up to 500m. This enables operation in unique situations with various types of cable systems. Attenuation and Gain are adjustable via RS485 through the camera software.
1Cam Mk5 with RED Aquorea LED For marine behavior surveys
SubC Imaging has created a system that incorporates the field proven 1Cam with Infrared filter and the Red Aquorea lighting to create a toolset that can view underwater life without disturbing their natural patterns and behavior. The 1Cam has a built in infrared filter (IR) that can be enabled or disabled through the camera’s software. When the camera is used in conjunction with the Aquorea with Red lighting offers superior underwater low light capability, undetectable by marine life. The long wavelength red light is quickly absorbed and extinguished by the uppermost layers of water, it is because of this fact most deep sea creatures cannot see red as it is nonexistent in their environment.
Click for sample video SubC's cameras are able to control our LEDs so this system can be implemented quickly without complex integration. This gives ROV operators and Marine Science another capable tool for viewing and working in the harsh ocean environments.

SubC equipment is designed to work a various depth ratings on un-manned vehicles. Designs are tested to their full pressure rating. Production units are pressure tested to a nominal rating to ensure no leaks. If using our equipment on vehicles which contain humans, you do so at your own discretion. Manned submersibles require equipment to have additional pressure testing to ensure safety
SubC Control Limited reserves the right to change, modify and update designs and specifications as part of their ongoing product development program.

How to use the camera The software has built in help tooltips for normal operation. Advanced functionality is explained below. Other details can be found in the SubC Smart Camera Manual. Focus capabilities The 1Cam features manual and automatic focus. When there are alot of particulates in the water column, automatic focus will sometimes begin to “hunt” changing focus from near to far. In this situation it is necessary to run the camera in Manual focus mode. The 1Cam software has control built in for switching from Auto to Manual and focusing Near and Far. Note: Because our control system adjusts the lens, we cannot give feedback about focus distance and mode. It is up to the operator to determine if an object is in focus.
Page 18 Known Limitations This camera is subject to the limitations of many other stills cameras. See SubC Underwater Photography Guide for better understanding. Date/time is kept accurate with a small lithium ion battery. With a month of inactivity sitting on a shelf it will likely run out of energy. Date/time will then have to be reset. E:65:01 and other flashing indicators with the OSD are related to disabled stabilization. SubC has removed the motors to increased reliability and make the camera work better in an underwater setting.
Reviewing Images/Video on Camera Go to the Review tab in the control software. Click the “Review” button and if the camera is not busy, a screen will be displayed that shows images and video that are in storage. The navigation wheel will move around within the review screen. Keyboard shortcuts are mapped to the Arrow keys and the Enter key for quicker use. Press the “Center” wheel button or Enter to view videos. When reviewing a video, pressing the “Down” button will show icons shown in the table to the right. You can “zoom in” on an image by pressing the “Enter” button. “Data Display” will show the metadata while reviewing the images and video. To switch from Stills to Video review press the “Mode” button.

Connect camera to the computer: open camera software, go to the tab Comms, select the port where you camera is plugged, then click Connect. Active HD: go to the tab Options, then enable HD by clicking on the HD/SD button. Make sure infrared filter is off. Set Light: click on LED controls tab, then click on LED on button if you desire to keep the LED on at all times when there is power to the camera. Set lamp power to desired value, let’s say 50%. Set Intervals: Go to the Intervals tab, set Wait To Start (WTS) to 3600s, and Record to 9999s. Press Start. Now wait for the camera to run through its commands until it starts counting down. Disconnect: Now that all intervals are ready, go to Comms and click on Disconnect. Deployment: Take the camera out on deck and connect it to the frame, light and battery cables and deploy your system in water. After retrieval repeat step 1 Reset Intervals: Now go to the tab Intervals and click on Reset to stop the interval configuration. Download footage: To start downloading your footage to the tab Options and click on USB. A window will appear accessing the folder with all your videos/pictures.
Page 20 Important notes on this example: ● From step 4, the camera will wait for 3600 seconds before going into interval mode, and will record during 9999 seconds. ● In step 3, If light is ONLY needed while recording, then click on Record under the Triggers category. This option is better to save battery power. ● There are two options for memory. Internal and memory card. Internal memory has 96GB. To switch between both options go to the Menu option in the Camera controls tab, then pick your storage source from the menu.
