System factory defaults To reset the ODA Surround amplifier to its factory default settings (reset), you must tap your finger on RESET YES in the SETUP menu and confirm with ENTER. For further details, see SETUP Menu, “CONFIGURING THE SYSTEM”, step 10. Gain control You can use the input gain control to adjust the input sensitivity of the ODA Surround amplifier to the output voltage of your audio device’s preamp output. The setting can be adjusted between 0.3 V and 8 V. Note: The gain controls have an effect on the analogue inputs (AUX 1, AUX 2, HiLEVEL IN). When connecting an audio device produced by another manufacturer, you must adjust the input sensitivity in accordance with the information provided by the manufacturer. Some important explanatory notes regarding this: Turning the control clockwise increases the input sensitivity of the amplifier and therefore also the volume. This, however, is not a volume control; setting it to its maximum position will not result in an increase in the amplifier power, even if it sounds like it ought to. The system only increases the volume more quickly when you turn up the volume control of the audio device. CONFIGURING THE SYSTEM DEUTSCH NEDERLANDS ITALIANO Press SETUP. or Press on the arrow buttons (UP DOWN ) to select an audio source: OPT IN (Optical), COA IN (Coaxial), A2 IN (Aux 2), A-1 IN (Aux 1). If installation or maintenance is carried out incorrectly, the vehicle’s electronic systems might malfunction. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery! When doing so, please observe the safety notices provided by the vehicle manufacturer. When drilling holes, you must make sure that none of the vehicle components (e.g. battery, cables, fuse box) can be damaged in the process. Depending on the vehicle model, the conditions in your vehicle may differ from the description provided here. We do not accept liability for any damages caused by mistakes made during installation or when making connections or for any consequential damages. Installation and connection instructions The amplifier power cable must be fitted with a fuse at a distance no greater than 30 cm from the battery. The purpose of the fuse is to protect the vehicle battery in the event of a short circuit between the power amplifier and the battery. The amplifier’s own fuse only protects the amplifier and not the vehicle battery. 26 The amplifier must be secured in a suitable installation location, e.g. beneath the seats or in the car boot (Fig. 1). When choosing an installation location, you should select one which is dry and which provides sufficient air circulation to cool the amplifier. Use cable grommets to protect cables against sharpedged holes. Use loudspeakers with 4 ohms impedance (see table and installation diagram). Observe the maximum load rating (music power rating). Do not connect loudspeakers to earth only use the correct terminals as indicated. The cross section of the positive and negative cable must be at least 6 mm2. Installing the infrared receiver Peel off the foil backing from the adhesive pad. Install the infrared receiver in such a way that you always have a clear view of the receiver. Installing the control unit holder Install the control unit holder (using an adhesive pad or screws) so that the control unit is always easily accessible, e.g. on the centre console. Caution! The infrared receiver and the control unit holder must not be installed within the inflation range of airbags (driver, passenger side, side airbags) or in any position where they could be struck by the vehicle occupants’ heads or knees! You must ensure that the vehicle’s controls remain easily accessible and that their correct functioning is not restricted in any way (gear stick, handbrake, etc.)! INSTALLATION DEUTSCH Fuse ENGLISH If the fuse needs to be replaced, never bypass/bridge the fuse and never replace it with fuse types that are designed for higher currents.
