2-6 GHz Broadband 4-Watt Power Amplifiers Spectrum Microwave introduces a line of wideband power amplifiers designed for demanding commercial and military communications applications such as test lab pre-amp drivers and electronic warfare jammers. These Gallium Nitride (GaN) amplifiers feature small signal gain ranging from 17 to 35 dB and power output from +19 to +36 dBm over the entire 2-6 GHz frequency band. Our new power amplifiers are available in a small, lightweight surface mount package with a hermetically sealed housing built to withstand extreme environmental conditions. The QB-904 is a 4-watt class AB amplifier providing outstanding high power

Spectrum Microwave applies the principles of Spectrum Control’s Quality Management System to deliver the world class quality and consistency our military customers demand. The efficiencies gained from manufacturing procedures enable us to cost effectively produce small volume custom products and high run standard components. We monitor critical phases of the production process with data logging technology and utilize our in-house testing capabilities from design through final production. The end result is a quality system worthy of our ISO9001:2000 certification.

4-Watt Power Amplifier Optional Heat Sink When using the 4-watt amplifier (QB-904) for bench testing, Spectrum Microwave recommends use of an optional heat sink and fan to provide sufficient airflow in order to limit the amplifier’s temperature rise to a maximum of 20°C above ambient. We have designed an aluminum, black anodized heat sink that can be used in conjunction with a number of popular standard muffin fan models found on the market today. The heat sink features a fan adapter plate for easy

mounting. These fans are typically 2" (50mm) x 2" (50mm) with a 10 cfm (min.) rating and operate from a 24 VDC supply with 150 mA of current draw.
