D Press the CHALL programming button while inserting the T-harness into the CHALL module. The Red LED will illuminate to indicate you are in programming mode, release the programming button. XKLOADER. § Directed Electronics D2D cable. § § USB Port 1 USB Connector Connect the XKLOADER to the computer. Only one XKLOADER must be used. XKLOADER Update the XSTART firmware: the XSTART to the XKLOADER using the D2D cable. 2a Connect Close all applications on your computer and open the Optimax Flash interface software. 2b Make sure no other application is using the same COM port. Part # XKD2D65 USB Connector XKLOADER 2c 4-PIN D2D XSTART The current software is listed under Unit Information. Choose the version you want to update from the Available Updates drop-down menu list. Click on the Flash button to update XSTART. 2d A message will be displayed to confirm when the operation will be completed successfully. © 2010 Directed Electronics. All rights reserved. Part # XKD2D65 USB Connector XKLOADER 4-PIN D2D XSTART all applications on your computer and 3c Close open the Xpress VIP software. The current RFTD firmare is listed under Current Information in Xpress VIP. 3d Choose the firmware version by clicking on the Browse or Refresh Information. Press and hold the Programming button on the XSTART module, then click on the Flash button in Xpress VIP. Once the progress bar appears, you can release the Programming button. 3e A message will be displayed when the flash operation has been completed successfully. © 2010 Directed Electronics. Model: CHRSALL AS-2320TW 2-way LED Remote Start Kit Rev.: 20101021 Page 8 Programming the CHALL Caution: The module can only be programmed a maximum of 5 times on a vehicle. 1 Check the transmission mode of the vehicle: - Automatic: cut the loop on the XSTART module. - Manual: go to step 2. 2 Press and hold the Programming button on the CHALL module. 3 See Vehicle Compatibility Chart (on page 2). T-HARNESS: Determine the T-harness required for the vehicle, 2) CHTH2 (not included) 1) CHTH1 (included) Vehicles 2004-2007, see page 4 See page 3 Vehicles 2008 and higher, see page 5 CHTCH1 OR CHTCH2 4 Connect the Unlock wire (purple/white) from the CHALL module to Ground for one second. 5 Turn the key to the "ON" position and hold until the red LED on the CHALL module starts to flash rapidly. 6a See the CHTH1 installation on page 3 for more information. CHALL IGN CHALL IGNITION ON Vehicles equipped with OEM alarm: Press the unlock button on the remote car starter remote control. or Put the Purple/White wire to ground with a jumper for 1 one second. 6b Vehicles equipped with (+) starter at Ignition: Note: Ensure that the Lt Blue/Black wire from the module is connected to the vehicles starter wire. IGN CHALL Start the vehicle with the key. The LED on the CHALL module will start to flash twice as fast. 7 Turn the key to the "OFF" position and remove the key. The Red LED will continue to flash until you press the lock button on the OEM remote. 8 If the vehicle is not equipped with the OEM remote: press and release the programming button of the CHALL module once. The LED will turn off to indicate the module has been programmed. LOCK The module is now ready for use. 9 UNLOCK PANIC Continue with the remote-starter programming. © 2010 Directed Electronics. Model: CHRSALL AS-2320TW 2-way LED Remote Start Kit Rev.: 20101021 Page 9 Programming a 2-Way Remote 1 Turn the Ignition on. 2 Press and hold the programming button on the module for 5 seconds, then release. 2 3 Press and release the programming button on the module once more. The parking lights will flash and the horn will honk to confirm. 3 4 Press and release the brake pedal once. The parking lights will flash once when you release the brake pedal. 5 Press and hold the LOCK button on the remote for 2 seconds. IGN 5 OFF 6 Turn the Ignition off. To program extra remotes, repeat steps 1 to 6 for each transmitter. (A maximum of 4 remotes can be programmed.) © 2010 Directed Electronics. All rights reserved. Model: CHRSALL AS-2320TW 2-way LED Remote Start Kit Rev.: 20101021 Page 10 Ready Mode Make sure that all doors are closed and the transmission is in the NEUTRAL position. 2 While the engine is running, engage the parking brake. 3 Make sure the brake pedal is released. 4 Push the remote START button. The parking lights will flash once and then remain on. 5 Remove the key from the ignition barrel. The vehicle will remain running with the Remote-Starter. 6 Exit the vehicle and close all doors. The Remote Starter will stop running once all the doors are closed. & OFF 1 IGN START TO DISABLE READY MODE STANDARD • Open any door(s) • Open the hood • Disengage the parking brake WITH NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH • Transmission not in neutral position • Open the hood • Disengage the parking brake Note : If the parking lights flash 3 times when Remote-Starting, Ready Mode is not enabled. IGN Press and hold the XSTART Programming button for 5 seconds, then release it. 2 Press and release the XSTART Programming button 1-33 times for the desired CHANNEL (refer to pages 12 and 13 for more information). 3 Press & release 1 time Press & release 2 times Press & release 3 times Press & release 4 times Press & release 5 times 3 The parking lights will flash and the horn/siren will chirp each time the button is pressed to confirm the operation. 4 Press and release the brake pedal once. (“DIRECTED”) promises to the original purchaser, to repair or replace with a comparable reconditioned piece, the security or remote start accessory piece (hereinafter the “Part”), which proves to be defective in workmanship or material under normal use, provided the following conditions are met: the Part was purchased from an authorized DIRECTED dealer; and the Part is returned to DIRECTED, postage prepaid, along with a clear, legible copy of the receipt or bill of sale bearing the following information: consumer’s name, address, telephone number, the authorized licensed dealer’s name and complete product and Part description. This warranty is nontransferable and is automatically void if the Part has been modified or used in a manner contrary to its intended purpose or the Part has been damaged by accident, unreasonable use, neglect, improper service, installation or other causes not arising out of defect in materials or construction.
