Introduction RS-232 is the most common transmission standard. Although widely available on most computer systems, measurement equipment, PLCs, and industrial devices, its transmission speed, communication distance, and especially networking capability are limited due to unbalanced transmission. The E-8520U4(F) converter solves this problem and lets you easily build up an 4-ch RS-485 network with your RS-232 devices for easier communication. The E-8520U4(F) is isolated RS-232 to 4-ch RS-485(or isolated RS-485 to RS-232 (E-8520U4R)) active star wiring hub, it has 4 independent RS-485 output channels and one RS-232 input channel. Each output channel is equipped with an individual driver. The data from a master to the input channel will simultaneously be forwarded to all the four output channels.
