What is USB On-The-Go (OTG)?
USB On-The-Go, or just OTG for short, is a specification that allows USB devices like digital music players, smartphones, tablets, etc. to act as a host for attachment of USB peripherals such as memory card readers, etc. With OTG compatibility, your smartphone or tablet functionality can be expanded beyond it's out-of-the-box capability.
Increase your Smartphone or Tablet’s Storage Capacity
Both the GoFor2 and GoFor2+ make perfect companions to any OTG compatible smartphone or tablet, easily increasing the storage capacity through the addition of either SD or micro SD cards. Plug your SD or micro SD card* into the GoFor2 / GoFor2+, then plug the micro USB connector into your mobile device. You can then play your music and movies as well as view, add, delete or transfer your photos, documents, and other files between your mobile device and memory card.
Card Reader for PC and Mac
The GoFor2 also serves as a card reader for easy file transfers between your SD or micro SD card and your mobile device or computer without the hassle of driver downloads or upgrades. Plug your SD or micro SD card to the GoFor2, then plug the GoFor2's USB connector into your desktop or laptop computer. You can view, transfer, add or delete music, images, documents, etc. to and from your computer or memory card.
OTG Compatible devices
The majority of OTG compatible devices are Android 4.0+ based, however there are other devices using RIM and Windows operating systems, as well as a few legacy Android devices that are also compatible. Please look for your device listing in the compatibility chart on our IOGEAR.com website, or check with your device manufacturer if your device is not listed.
