2016 Cabling Post Installation Checklist School: Contractor: PO/Contract Number: Scope of work: (# of drops/permanent links) Item Component Description 1 Raceways Wires secured in raceways and raceways securely attached to mount surface. 2 Service Loop: Rack/cabinet Sufficient service loop to allow the patch panel to be relocated for rack/cabinet swap out. 3 Grounding Cabinet and/or rack connected to building ground 4 Panel panel and cabling match All Cat5e, or all Cat6. Cat5e PP used with Cat6 cabling 5 Cabling manufacturer Installed cable matches or exceeds the specified cable. Note: materials/manufacturer substitutions must be pre-approved by the technical representative. 6 Patch cables to patch panel and end system device/computer Patch cables meet or exceed permanent link specifications (end to end Cat6 if the permanent link is Cat6) 7 Cable management to route cables to the right of rack Patch cables must not obstruct operational access to the equipment (status light viewing, equipment swap out) Date Approved/ Deviation (initial) 2016 Cabling Post Installation Checklist Tom O’Callahan [email protected] pg 1 8 Rack power Rack mounted power strip 9 UPS Network equipment is connected to a UPS when provided. 10 Per connection/drop cabling certification report 11 Diagrams and drawing Revisable format rack profiles, logical network diagram 12 Jacks, patch panels, and rack patch cables labeled. PP and switch port must be attached to both end of the patch cables.
