Hammer Installation for 1995 55” Rotors For 1995 Model 2050, and 2150 Redekop Choppers The bent flail and straight hammers for your chopper must be installed in the following pattern. Changing the hammer pattern can significantly reduce the performance of the Redekop Chopper. Left and right sides of the combine are determined as if you are sitting in the combine operators seat. By this convention, the left and right bent flails are shown here for reference when ordering new blades. Compare the hammer in question to the illustration to be sure you are ordering or assembling the proper hammer.
Right (HA 500R)
Left (HA 500L)
This hammer pattern is illustrated from the point of view shown at right. This is the normal view of the rotor as the hammers are being changed. Note that as shown below, the left flail is located to the right of the hammer holder when looking at the chopper rotor from this perspective.

Installing the Redekop Chopper For Combines Equipped With Straw Spreaders 1. Remove the straw spreaders and straw spreader drive assembly from the combine.
For Combines Equipped With a Straw Chopper 1. Remove the entire factory straw chopper, straw roller, and straw chopper drive from the combine.
For All Combines 1. Use a loader or forklift with forks under the chopper to lift the Redekop Chopper to the initial position shown in Figure 1. Ensure that at least one person is available to stand beside the loader to balance the chopper on the loader forks. Fasten chopper to combine with 3/8”xl” bolts and flange nuts. All holes in the chopper side wall hangers should match existing holes in the combine body.

Attach the left sieve extension mount bracket to the shoe at A with the original bolts as shown (note: the stub shaft welded to the left mount bracket should point inward when mounted on the left side of the combine). 3. Slide the left side of the sieve extension pipe over the left mount bracket stub shaft. Slide the right mount bracket into the right side of the sieve extension pipe and fasten the right mount bracket to R.c4ekop sieve extension

FIgure 2: Installing the Sieve Extension. 4. Drill a 5/16” hole through each side of the combine shoe at 13 and fasten the bracket to the shoe with 5/16”xl-3/4” bolts. 5. Attach an eyebolt and spring between the sieve extension and the mount brackets on both ends of the extension. Tighten the tension on the springs so that the extension remains firmly in position, but still allows for motion of the extension between the horizontal and vertical positions. 6. Attach the 8” x 54” belting to the underside of the extension. Insert carriage bolts from top. REdEkOp INdUSTRiES

Installing the Redekop Chopper 1. Install the Interface plate on the Redekop Chopper rotor cover plate as shown in FIgure 3. 2. Move the NH deflector shield from its original position to the new position shown in FIgure 3. The top of the shield should fit against the combine ceiling between the longitudinal support members and the angle support member on the combine. Fasten the bottom of the shield to the interface plate as shown, and drill 5/16” holes in the combine walls to fasten the shield sides using the original bolts.

Figure 3: Installing the Interface Plate and Moving the Internal Straw Deflector NOTE The following components should only be installed after operating the chopper in normal field conditions. It is only necessary to install them if the chopper throws too much material to the outside. 3. Position deflector plates as shown in Figure 4. Drill 5/16” holes in the combine side
walls to hold the deflector plates. Fasten with 5/16”x3/4” bolts.

Installing the Updated Chopper Drive 1. Remove the New Holland chopper drive pulley from shaft A if it exists and clean if necessary (see Figure 5). 2. Install 18.4” cast triple pulley onto the shaft using a 1-3/16” bushing and a 5/16” x 1-1/4” half moon key. Do not tighten until other pulleys ai~ mounted to assure proper alignment
FIgure 5: Installing the Chopper Drive Pulley 3. Attach pulley B in Figure 6 to the idler bracket using a 5/8” x 5” bolt placing the nut on the bracket side. 4. Attach pulley C to the bracket with a 5/8” x 6” bolt and the 1” x 2” bushing and secui~ to the combine by turning the bolt into the welded stub shown in Figure 7(a). (see page 4)

Installing the Updated Chopper Drive 1. Remove existing tightner from this mount if applicable (Refer to Figure 7(a)). 2. Install the assembled idler unit onto the fixed bracket on the combine using five 5/8” flat washers as spacers between the pulley and the combine (Figure 7(b)). Check for adequate clearance between the pulleys and the combine wall as extra washers may be used. 3. The spring tightner should be positioned along this channel (Figure 7(c)) at a point vertically above the tightner bolt so as not to interfere with the movement of the idler bracket. Drill a 3/8” hole through the side wall of the channel and use a 3/8” x 1-1/4” bolt to secure in place. 4. Hook the tightner over the bolt on the idler bracket and tighten the spring as necessary
Figure 7: Attaching the Belt Idler Unit to the Combine. 5. Operation of the spring tightner is illustrated in Figure 8. This spring tightner relieves the belt tension allowing the belt to be moved from the chopper pulley to the chopper idler or vice-versa. Tightner operation is as follows: i) remove the pin from the tightner; ii) pull the lever forward to loosen the spring tension; iii) move the belt to the desired pulley or idler; iv) push the lever, returning the tightner to its original position; and v) replace the pin. Warning! The pin must be securely in place before the combine drive is engaged. REdEkop INdUSTRiES
