An Industry Standard Now in High-Definition 360 Systems’ 2470HD Time Delay is designed to compensate for time-zone differences encountered in broadcasting. Transmission to western time zones can be delayed by any interval; or a local station can delay incoming programs to suit its schedule. Any delay up to 24 hours can be programmed, so even an entire days’ content can be ready for emergency use.
A visually lossless form of JPEG-2000 encoding produces excellent image quality, without the blocking or motion artifacts associated with MPEG. Program inputs and outputs are HD-SDI, paralleled with HDMI outputs for convenient monitoring. Sixteen embedded audio channels allow the 2470HD to handle the largest projects. Alternately, two discrete +4 analog audio channels are available on rear-panel XLR connectors. 360 Systems’ Bit-forBit® handling of audio data ensures correct playback of Dolby® or other forms of surround audio. The 2470-HD’s graphic user interface is intuitive. Just program any delay up to 24 hours, and video, audio, and ancillary data will be captured and replayed with single-frame precision. Settings are automatically recalled each time power is applied. Because the 2470HD stores high-value program material, a RAID-5 disk array is used for enhanced reliability. Drives are easily replaced from the front, without removing the unit from the rack.
