TYXAL PERSONALIZING THE SIREN The siren measures the outdoor temperature. If several sirens are present on the same installation, the “C5” straps must be cut on all the extra sirens, so that only one temperature measure is sent to the control keypad with display. 8 Wireless alarm range C5 C6 C7 C8 TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS Field of application: wireless alarm equipment - Power supply: Pack of 6 LR 20 BPX alkaline batteries welded in series – code 6416204 - Stand-by mode consumption: 300 µA max. - Average alarm consumption: ≤ 1.15 A - Average consumption for transmission: ≤ 50 mA - Autonomy: 30 months for normal use - Sound level at 1 m: 109 dB +/- 2 dB - Modulation: Standard C 48-465 - Tamper alarm: opening and removal - Indications: • alarm: 90 sec. • pre-alarm: 45 sec. • low batteries: Series of “knock” sounds and radio transfer to the control unit - Control unit/siren radio range: • outside: 200 to 300 m depending on environment • indoors: depending on environment - Radio link: two-way - Radio frequencies: 434 and 868 MHz bands, class I - Membership of the system: over 16 million - Casing: ABS-PC - Protection index: IP 43 - IK 06 - Dimensions: 277 x 188 x 100 mm - Weight: 2.75 kg with the battery unit - Operating temperature: -25°C / +70°C Device complying with the requirements of the R&TTE 1999/5/EC directives 1 SERX/SEFX outdoor siren Installation and User Guide PRESENTATION The SEFX (without flash) or SEFX (with flash) outdoor wireless siren is designed to indicate a burglary alarm. It is associated with a wireless control unit from the TYXAL range. The differences on the SEFX are: - the presence of the flash, which locates the break in point during an alarm, - the pre-alarm feature, which uses flash lighting to warn of a presence detected outdoors. The pre-alarm feature allows: - when associated with a TYXIA 320 outdoor infrared detector, a pre-alarm warning (the lighting flashes on and off for 45 seconds), - when associated with a DOFX smoke detector, a fire warning which (specific modulation) can only be used indoors. 2 PREPARATION Installation precautions In a home, radio waves are reflected and attenuated by the structures they encounter. This propagation can be altered, so avoid installing products near large metal masses (beams, etc.) or an electrical switchboard. Because of changes in standards and equipment, the characteristics given in the text and the illustrations of this document are not binding unless confirmed by Delta Dore. battery unit battery unit latch grommet (mains power supply option) tamper alarm lever The wireless siren must be installed in a place sheltered from bad weather and if possible with difficult access in order to protect it from being tampered with. Radio wave propagation levels Plaster, wood, Reinforced plasterboard concrete 90 à 100% 10 à 70% Brick, chipboard 65 à 95% Metal, metal panels 0 à 10% It is therefore advisable to test the radio transmission before definitively installing the siren (see the “TEST” chapter). 3 POWER SUPPLY To place or replace the battery unit, set the control unit to MAINTENANCE mode, then follow the procedure below. - Open the cover. - Loosen the battery unit latch. - Fit back or replace the 1 BPX battery unit. When you change the battery unit, wait at least 2 minutes before fitting 2 the new battery unit 1 alarm 2 tamper alarm 3 battery 4 supervision 5 open door/window The control unit and the siren emit a beep. The control unit’s LED “5” (siren) lights up. This indicator will be on already if a siren has been recorded. - Close the siren cover. The siren will now recognize the commands coming from the control unit. The recorded settings are kept after a power cut (changing batteries). Associating pre-alarm products with the SEFX only - press the siren’s TEST button for approximately 5 seconds until the flashing light ➊ flashes, You are in the pre-alarm mode (15 min.) - you can now add your “pre-alarm” wireless products ➋ : • for the outdoor infrared detector: press the test button, the detector emits a “ BeeeeeeeP ”, The siren emits a “ BeeeeeeeP ” sound. • for the smoke detector: Press the TEST button for approximately 5 seconds, the detector emits a “ BeeeeeeeP ”, lThe siren emits a “sound”. - Exit the pre-alarm mode: by briefly pressing the Test button, or automatically after 15 min. - You can close the siren cover. Low battery indication Every time the surveillance is enabled/disabled, via a series of short knocks. LEARNING In order to communicate and exchange information with one another, all the devices on the same wireless alarm system must be recognized. To be recognized (“learning”), the siren must be supplied with power and be open. Set the control unit to MAINTENANCE mode: - press the ON and OFF buttons of a remote control or keypad for longer than 5 seconds (after entering the access code), the front LED flashes - open the battery cover of the control unit. BeeeeeeeP 2 BeeeeeeeP Associating the siren with the system BeeeeeeeP Go to the “Product” menu on the control unit - Press the ON button of a keypad or remote control (that is already recognized) for 5 seconds. The control unit emits a beep and the front panel indicator light is steady. - Supply power to the siren (see Power Supply chapter) - Close the cover if the learning is complete. This is done automatically after 5 minutes or by using the “off” feature of a control device. Close the battery cover of the control unit. remove test - Tighten up the latch. - Connect the battery unit to the siren’s power supply connector. - Close the cover. The tamper alarm (open cover or siren not mounted) will sound the siren after 4 minutes. This gives you enough time to close the siren. Never throw away the flat battery unit. It must be taken back to the point of purchase. 4 Return to MAINTENANCE mode Recording your siren - Press the siren's TEST button until the control unit emits a beep. Note: The siren has a temperature sensor that allows the outdoor temperature to be displayed on a control keyboard with display. The control unit emits several beeps if the product is recorded incorrectly, at the limit of the radio range or if the maximum number of sirens has been reached. 6 Removing The siren can be removed from the system. - To remove the siren in the control unit, see the control unit’s user guide. - To remove the control unit in the siren, press its TEST button for one minute. When you press the button, the control unit emits a beep. After 1 minute, the siren sounds for a short moment. - To remove the pre-alarm products in the siren, press the TEST button for 10 seconds, the siren flashes then stops. The siren must be supplied with power and recognized by the control unit (learning) The control unit must be in MAINTENANCE mode (battery cover open). - Press the ”test” button of the control unit. The siren sounds for 1.5 seconds to confirm the test. Every time you press this button the test will be reactivated. The siren is ready to operate. Important: removing the siren in the control unit also removes all the products associated with the pre-alarm. 5 1 3 alarm tamper alarm battery 4 supervision 5 open door/window 2 INSTALLATION NOTE: Throughout this step, the battery unit must be disconnected. remove - Open up the siren by unscrewing the 4 screws on the cover approximately 4 turns (captive screws). Using the drilling template supplied in the block of the cardboard box: - Place a screw in front of the tamper alarm lever. It must overlap by approximately 20 mm to press on the lever inside the siren. - Mount the siren’s casing. test - Replace the cover of the siren and tighten the screws. Perform a general test on the system according to the control unit’s user guide. If the siren is triggered, it will sound for 90 seconds To stop the siren sound: - Press the “OFF” button on the remote control or use the OFF” feature on a keypad. - To switch back to normal operation: Close all the products of the system (the control unit last). Remember to use a screw from the kit packet The head of this screw must be between 18 and 20 mm away from the wall The siren can also be tested using the following method: - Press the “ON” button on the remote control for longer than 5 seconds, or use the “On” function on a keypad (after entering the access code). -In the control keypad with display, you must go to the “Warning device test” menu. 20 mm Wall 5 sec. 1 Tamper alarm lever 2 TESTING 3
