Always wear appropriate vision and hearing protection when using this product! Introduction ALWAYS UNLOAD GUNS BEFORE PLACING IN RACK! The Six Gun Speed Rack was designed to provide hand gun organization and storage opportunities in locations that typically would be unusable space. The rack stores 6 guns each one with a maximum weight of 45 oz. which covers everything from a .32 cal up to, and including, model 1911’s. The barrel inserts are delrin plastic (polyoxymethylene) which is flexible, strong and has a low coefficient of friction. In addition there is an integral collar that protects the muzzle. The shelf-hooks are M-10 steel and the bracket is welded steel with a durable powder coat finish. The speed rack will efficiently organize your guns for many years. The weight of 6 guns can easily exceed 15 lbs. Make sure that the shelf or surface that you attach the rack to has adequate strength and stability to support the load. ALWAYS UNLOAD GUNS BEFORE PLACING IN RACK! Page 1 Assembly Instructions 1 Use a hex nut to attach a barrel insert to the frame. Firmly tighten by hand. 2 To reduce the diameter of an insert put the threaded end in a power drill. Hold sandpaper (#150-200 is good) against the shaft and run the drill. About 35-40 seconds should make a good fit for .357/.38. Smaller diameters will take a little longer. Page 2 3 For above shelf mounting the barrel inserts must be fitted to the angled face of the bracket. 4 Page 3 Attach the shelf hooks as shown. Thread one nut 2.75 on to the shaft . Push the shaft through the tube on the bracket and thread on the other nut. The threaded section is about 7 long. This allows you to adjust the distance from the bracket to the edge of the shelf. 5 If the rod is too long for your shelf, mark the point where you want to cut it and thread a nut past that point. Cut the rod with a hacksaw and unthread the nut. This will clear the thread of any debris or distortion caused by cutting. 6 The shelf hooks will fit shelves up to 11⁄2 thick. For thinner shelves, rotate the hooks as shown and firmly lighten the hex nuts with a wrench. It is especially important to do this when mounting under a shelf. Page 4 ALWAYS UNLOAD GUNS BEFORE PLACING IN RACK! 7 There are 4 holes in the base of the bracket. Whenever possible use #10 or #12 sheet metal screws to stabilize the base. This step is absolutely necessary for under shelf mounting. 8 Page 5 For under shelf mounting, the barrel inserts attach to the 90/vertical face of the bracket and the shelf hooks also insert from that side. Carefully follow the instructions in steps 5,6 & 7. Especially steps 6 & 7! Failure to properly stabilize and secure the fixture could result in damage to guns. ALWAYS UNLOAD GUNS BEFORE PLACING IN RACK! There are 2 ways to mount to a vertical surface. Use the 4 holes at the corners of the angled face of the bracket. From inside the bracket use 4 #10 or #12 screws. This will automatically set the other side of the bracket at the correct angle. The other choice is to position the bracket with the angled side facing up and screw to the surface using the 4 holes in the base. Mount directly to a flat horizontal surface using the 4 holes in the base. ALWAYS UNLOAD GUNS BEFORE PLACING IN RACK! Page 6 • REPLACEMENT PARTS • These are replacement parts for purchase.
