The many options which are available such water pumps, sound insulation reinforced, stacking units, dual machine operation or production of water up to -12°C temperatures, make 30WG a unique combination of performance and compactness. July-August 2012 | Issue 62 NEW CARRIER 30WG & 61WG A modular range suitable to many applications ■ Ideal for light commercial and industrial applications ■ Its compactness is key for both new and existing building retrofit ■ Reversible on the water side so to provide energy efficient heating ■ Compatible with Aquasmart Touch Pilot System A unique combination of features in a compact unit ■ Among the highest coefficient of performance and seasonal efficiency in the market ■ Compact unit that can be stacked for time more cooling capacity ■ Able to provide low leaving water temperature down to -12°C ■ Noise level is among the lowest on the market! When replacing an old unit by this new unit, noise level will be at least equivalent and oſten better! A system easy to install and simple to maintain ■ 100% compatible The 30WG can fit any kind of source. ■ Just plug and play! Thought for a fast installation, the unit offers an easy water connection, which can be done from the top or the back. ■ Stackable for to time more capacity. If water connection is done from the back, unit could be stacked with another one to gain space and allow stage functioning. ■ High-performance compactness. Its small size allows it to get a minimal footprint. The 30WG passes a door or get a lift easily but it is also a high-performance heating unit! WATER COOLED UNITS ■ An easy maintenance. All components are very easily accessible. In addition, there is only one screw type and size to assemble the entire casing. A design created for making your cooling easy ■ Domestic hot water This unit can heat domestic water up to 65°C (model 61WG) on the source side when cooling on the terminal unit side. ■ Maximum safety and reliability. A control of condensing pressure valve allows to start the unit when working with dry cooler in cold outdoor weather condition. ■ Dry coolers to increase energy efficiency A wide range of dry coolers compatible with this new unit is available in Carrier catalogue. Hydronic kit and water connection ■ Units with top water connection can be delivered with hydronic kit on both condenser or evaporator side only. ■ Hydronic kit includes circulating pump, valves and expansion vessel. ■ Circulating pump can be fixed speed or with variable water flow. ■ This reduces energy consumptions with three control mode: - Unit ∆T monitoring for maximum coefficient of performance - Constant water flow - Constant pressure Stackable unit ■ Stackable allow to gain significant footprint and be installed in a small plant room. This option is available only for units with water connection on the back of the unit. -2- Reduce your energy bill! ■ Unmatched performance With the best coefficient of performance and part load efficiency on the market, 30WG is one of the most efficient solution to save money. When replacing your old unit on site, payback impact will surprise you! ■ A variable water flow pump to reduce your costs The optional hydronic kit is available with self adjusting circulating pump. Unit will then operate in the best possible conditions and therefore reduce its running cost. ■ Optimize comfort and savings with Aquasmart A possible integration to this schedule and zoning control system, Aquasmart Touch Pilot, helps to increase comfort and to minimize energy consumption. July-August 2012 | Issue 62 NEW CARRIER 30WG & 61WG 61WG is the 1st geothermal heating solution by Carrier Trust Carrier know-how for your heating needs Aſter being successful with its air to water range, such as 61AF, 30AWH or 38AW, Carrier has developed, for the first time in this capacity range, a unit dedicated to geothermal applications, using underground water or bore holes as heat source. You trust carrier for cooling and refrigeration? You can count on us to deliver energy efficient heating solutions. . WATER COOLED UNITS Aquasmart: the Touch Pilot System Manager to optimise up to 128 zones! ■ Zoning and schedule systems to manage your heating in space and time. More comfort granted! ■ Free cooling system reduces your energy consumption up to 2 kWh/m2/year ■ Variable speed pumps with reduced water flow at part load conditions for real savings ■ Including a new generation of heat pumps delivering superior energy efficiency Simple and energy efficient solutions 61WG is a unit specifically designed for heating applications with a wide range of options that makes is easy to integrate in any new or existing heating system. Its high leaving water temperature of 65°C, without backup, makes it compatible with space heating and domestic hot water proH E AT I N G S O L U T I O N S duction applications. Given this high leaving water temperature, 61WG can be installed in new build or existing building retrofit whatever is the type or terminal units: fan coils, radiators or under floor heating. -3- July-August 2012 | Issue 62 NEW CARRIER 30WG & 61WG 61WG is able to provide hot water up to 65°C in order to satisfy domestic hot water production. In replacement applications, where existing heating systems are connected with standard panel radiators distribution system, a supply water temperature of 50 to 65°C can provide efficient heating. Fan coil units distribution system usually requires a hot water supply of 45°C, while for underfloor heating provides sufficient heating with temperatures less than 35°C WATER COOLED UNITS 61WG Heating Hydronic Diagram application The schematic installation diagram below presents the complete control heating system of single leaving water temperature application. Domestic Hot Water tank (DHW) is connected through 3way valve, while water buffer tank manages various heating sources such as boiler back-up and supplementary electric heater. Weather compensation curve connected with outdoor temperature is standard in hydronic control system. Heating System Manager for large systems HSM is an installer friendly control box that can manage: ■ two different type of terminal units with different operating temperature trough mixing valve control, ■ staged or progressive type of back up whatever it is electrical or fossil fuel burner, ■ domestic hot water with interfacing with thermal solar panels, ■ district heating if interfacing with necessary valve control, ■ the system on weather compensation for maximum energy efficiency. A system easy to install and simple to maintain 61WG fits any system even the oldest, thanks to its maximum leaving water temperature up to 65°C. It is also compatible with Carrier fan coil and dry cooler ranges to create a complete package. ■ Plug and play. 61WG offers top or back water connections with user friendly user interface. ■ Stackable for more capacity. If water connection is done from the back, 61WG could be stacked easily with another one to gain space and it also allows leag/lag functioning. ■ High performance compactness. Even if extremely efficient, the unit has a small footprint. 61WG passes a door or can get a liſt easily. ■ Easy maintenance. Even if compact, all components are accessible and there is only one type of screw type and size for the entire casing. ■ Hydronic options. To better suit your installation constraints, 61WG is available with water connection on top or in the back, with or without hydronic kit. -2- July-August 2012 | Issue 62 NEW CARRIER 30WG & 61WG More than an efficient heating solution… a good investment! WATER COOLED UNITS To avoid over consumption, 61WG will automatically adjust its leaving water to the lowest possible in order to improve its seasonal efficiency. Water running through terminal units is at the exact temperature, not more, not less than what is needed. For more information about Both 30WG & 61GW units have wide operating maps, as shown below, with HEAT/COOL change over avalable as standard. 30WG & 61WG units, ■ Variable Water Flow pumps The optional hydronic kit is available with self adjusting circulating pump. Unit will then operate in the best possible conditions and therefore reduce its running cost. ■ A heat pump water-water drawing energy from geothermal. Water is taken in the ground and then turned into heating. ■ With a COP and part load efficiency among the highest in the market, at affordable price, 61WG drives very attractive payback time against solutions using fossil fuels. ■ Among the highest coefficient of performance and part load efficiency in the market ■ Design to the best quality standard with robust technology ■ Τhe 61WG range is certified by European Ecolabel ■ A self-adjusting system visit Carrier web site: A n www.ahi-carrier.gr E-News is a monthly newsletter published by AHI -CARRIER S.E.
