A.1 On and off switch Switches the TorMinal ON or OFF. A.2 Display The display consists of 2 x 8 characters. The upper line shows the memory position (Mem) with its number and the lower line the associated value (Val). A.3 Connection cable A.4 Polarity protection A.5 Buttons and their function Mem + Selects the next highest memory position (e.g. from 014 to 015). Mem - Selects the next lowest memory position (e.g. from 014 to 013). This cable connects the TorMinal to the control unit. The plug has a polarity protection (PIN) to ensure that it is always connected correctly. This PIN ensures that the connection cable (A.3) is always connected to the control unit correctly. Val + Increases the value. Val - Reduces the value. Esc Cancels a changed value that has not yet been stored. Saves the set value or confirms a reset of a control unit. B.3 Battery B.4 Battery connection Power is supplied by a conventional 9 V block battery which can be purchased at the dealer or obtained from SOMMER Antriebs- und Funktechnik GmbH. Always insert the battery as shown in the graphic (B). The 9 V block battery is connected here. Check for the correct polarity (+/-)! Note! Esc and Simultaneously pressing the buttons factory settings and all changed values will be lost.  – 11 Mem + will reset control unit to Operation / Use Safety instructions Note (does not apply to the twist XL + DT-A-1)! Before every modification of a setting value, perform a control unit reset (delete force values) on the control unit (see installation and operating instructions of the respective drive). For a reset with the TorMinal, no force values are deleted but rather only the values that can be modified with the TorMinal will be reset to factory settings. The control unit must relearn the run times and required forces. Before working on a gate or a drive, always disconnect the drive from the power supply and lock it to prevent it from being switched on again. Do not touch the conductor paths of the control unit circuit board. Switching on the TorMinal A • Slide the switch (A.1) to the ON position. This image shows the velocity curve (factory setting without 2) of the drive when opening or closing a gate. 2 8 1 7 5 6 4 2 3 1. Maximum speed Highest speed of the drive - separately adjustable for opening and closing. 2. Soft running The time which the drive move with the soft running speed. Can be switched on additionally and adjusted separately: -- When the drive starts from the end positions gate CLOSE + OPEN. -- When the drive moves to the end positions gate CLOSE + OPEN. 3. Door end position OPEN Gate is open. 4. Soft running speed Lowest speed of the drive - separately adjustable for opening and closing. Note! The soft running speed must be at least 2 setting values less than the maximum speed.  – 14 Explanation of terms 5. Soft running ramp The time that the drive requires in order to reach its maximum or soft running speed. 6. Door end position CLOSED Gate is closed 7. Zero line 8. Max line Maximum settable speed. The adjustment range of the individual speeds lies between the zero line and max line. Running time The time that the drive requires in order to close or to open. Cycle counter Cycle = movement, consisting of a complete opening and closing movement between the end positions. A cycle is only counted upon reaching the end position gate closed. Backjump Serves to relieve the door and drive mechanical system. After reaching the door CLOSE end position, the drive moves in the direction of door OPEN, relieving the mechanical system.  – 15 Memory positions and their function You can read out the settings of the individual memory positions here. The first column shows the memory position, the second the possible settable range (the first number the smallest and the second number the largest possible set value), the third column describes the function and the fourth column the factory setting of the respective memory position. sprint 550 SL, duo 500 SL / 650 SL, duo vision Memory position Mem Setting range Val Functional description Factory setting = Val sprint / duo SL / duo vision 003 - 1) Learned force during gate open (OPEN) 255 3) 004 - 1) Learned force during gate close (CLOSED) 255 3) 005 - 1) Running time during gate open (OPEN) 255 3) Value in steps of 0.25 seconds Example: displayed value 40 = 10 seconds 006 - 1) Running time during gate close (CLOSED) 255 3) Value in steps of 0.25 seconds Example: displayed value 40 = 10 seconds 011 - 2) 255 3) Cycle counter (Z1) Number of cycles: Counter reading times 256 012 - 2) Cycle counter (Z2): counts from 0 to 255 255 3) Number of completed cycles: Z1 x 256 + Z2 Example: 3 x 256 + 77 = 845 013 0 - 255 255 3) Partial opening time Size of the partial opening, adjustable in steps of 0.25 seconds. 017 0 - 255 Length of soft running from the end position gate OPEN or gate CLOSED 0 up to accelerations to maximum speed. 0 - no soft running, 255 - max. length Soft running length Door end position CLOSED Door end position OPEN 018 0-8 Length of the soft running ramp 4 larger value = longer ramp, smaller value = shorter ramp 1) Displayed value cannot be modified, is read in and saved by the control during learning in of the forces and runtimes. 2) Display value cannot be modified. 3) Value is entered at delivery.
