Locate the wood pieces for landing gear mount. Step5. Glue the wing spar to the slot pre-cut in the wing and fuselage. Step2. Glue the wood pieces together as shown. Step6. Put some weights on the wing till the foam glue fully cures. Step3. Glue the assembled landing gear mount to the vertical fuselage. Step4. Glue two wing panels to the horizontal fuselage. Step7. Glue the carbon fiber strip (148mm long) to the slot in the elevator. Step8. Glue the horizontal tail to the fuselage. (the fuselage is thicker than the horizontal tail, make sure they are aligned on the top side.) www.valuehobby.com/39in-edge540-epp.html Step9. Install the extended servo arm using two M2 x 6mm self-tapping screws. Step12. Install elevator servo and rudder servo onto the fuselage using hot glue. (the rudder servo arm’s direction is toward to left, and the elevator servo arm’s direction is toward to right.) Step10. Install a push rod connector to the servo arm. Step13. Glue the wood motor mount to the fuselage. Step11. Install two aileron servos as shown using hot glue. Step14. Slide the horizontal fuselage into the vertical fuselage. Align the tabs from the vertical fuselage into the slots in the horizontal fuselage. Adjust the vertical fuselage to make it in the center line of the horizontal fuselage. 8 www.valuehobby.com/39in-edge540-epp.html Step17. Install the tail skid (92mm long carbon fiber strip). Step15. Cut a slot on the aileron for the control horn and Install an aileron control horn. Step18. Prepare the landing with two wheels installed. Step16. Install the rudder control horn and elevator control horn. (The slots for rudder and elevator control horn are pre-cut.) Step19. Insert the landing gear to the mount, and install a M2 x 12mm self-tapping screw to secure the landing gear. 9 www.valuehobby.com/39in-edge540-epp.html Step20. Cut the 160mm steel wire with z-bend to 2 wires. Step24. Repeat the steps from 20 to 23 to finish the remaining aileron servo linkage installation. Step21. Attach the z-bend wire to the control horn, and one short wire to the push rod connector, then tighten the screw on the push rod connector. Step25. Insert two support guides into the fuselage for the rudder push rod. Step22. Use heat shrinking tube to connect the short steel wire and 100mm long aileron servo push rod wire. Step26. Insert two support guides into the fuselage for the elevator push rod. Step23. With aileron control surface centered, use the heat shrinking tube to connect the z-bend steel wire and the push rod wire. Step27. Finish the elevator servo linkage installation using the same methods for the aileron servo linkage. 10 www.valuehobby.com/39in-edge540-epp.html Step30. Install the prop to the motor. Step31. Cut the hook and loop tape into two pieces, and stick them to the two sides of the fuselage for the battery and esc. Step28. Finish the rudder servo linkage installation. Recommended CG The recommended CG is 250mm (9.8in) from the nose of the fuselage. Step29. Prepare a motor with motor mount and prop adapter installed. Install the motor to the motor mount using four M2.5 x 12mm self-tapping screws. Recommended Control Throw 1.
