With this Quick Start Guide, you’ll find your ø Business USB Modem 889 and a CD containing the 3G Watcher software, together with these accessories. • USB extension cable • Laptop clip • Carrying pouch • Lanyard To use your ø Business USB Modem 889, you’ll need any of these operating systems:

Installing your ø Business USB Modem 889 Your installation CD is all you need to get you started and works in the same way for both Macs and PCs*. How to install the Watcher Software: IMPORTANT: Do not insert the modem into the USB slot before installing the software. PC users
Mac users
1. Insert the CD into the CD drive.

2. The software installation process should start automatically. If it does not, select Start > Run and enter: d:\Setup.exe (where d is your CD drive letter) and select “Install 3G Watcher Software” from the Menu.

Using your ø Business USB Modem 889 To use your modem, simply remove the cap from the end and insert the sim card into the top slot, as shown in the illustration. Then, insert the ø Business USB Modem 889 into the USB slot and follow the on-screen instructions.

To keep everything together, it’s a good idea to thread the lanyard through the cap and the modem, as shown in the illustrations. Using the laptop clip and USB cable In areas of marginal network coverage, you might want to clip the USB modem to the top of your laptop and connect it to your USB port via the USB cable provided. This may help you receive a better network signal. Using the laptop clip and USB cable will also reduce any interference that you might experience in rare circumstances.
