Audio ringtones are yesterdays news — modern cell phones allow moving pictures combined with audio to be used as ringtones. 3GP Movie Studio is the perfect tool for getting creative and making your very own video ringtone. The program allows you to create your own 3GP compatible video ringtones and transfer them to your cellular phone using WAP download, Bluetooth, infrared or cable connections. Video and audio clips are added per drag and drop from the integrated media file browser. Up to six tracks of audio can be mixed. Transitions between video clips are created by overlapping clips and a large number of amazing transitions are available. You can also import your favourite tracks from music CDs or record audio tracks using the soundcard on your computer. Editing your ringtones is a breeze with 3GP Movie Studio. You can easily crop clips, adjust the volume and even apply amazing studio effects like echo, reverb or equalizing. The possibilities are endless! 1.1 Requirements Before you install 3GP Movie Studio, please make sure your computer fulfills the following requirements: · A Pentium or compatible processor with at clock rate of 750 MHz or more · Minimum 256 MB RAM · A Windows compatible sound card In addition, you will need the following software installed on your computer: · Windows XP Copyright © 2005-2006 Acon Digital Media GmbH Creating a Video Ringtone 2 Creating a Video Ringtone After launching 3GP Movie Studio the main window appears: The upper part shows a horizontal time line with the available video and audio tracks below. Copyright © 2005-2006 Acon Digital Media GmbH 12 3GP Movie Studio User Guide 3.9.2 Equalizer 3GP Movie Studio features a powerful six band parametric equalizer. Unlike a graphic equalizer, a parametric equalizer allows the user to select the center frequency of the bands. The equalizer in 3GP Movie Studio also has variable bandwidths on each band. The center frequency is specified in Hertz. Sound characters of the different frequencies are best discovered through experimentation. The bandwidth may be specified in octave bands. One octave band equals the frequency range of one octave on the piano keyboard. The bandwidth is the same parameter as the Q-factor found in some analog equipment. A higher Q-factor represents a narrower bandwidth. The lower part of the equalizer dialog box is used to display the filter response curve (gain versus frequency). The filter response curve is calculated mathematically and is updated as the parameters are altered. The Equalizer settings Settings · Frequency response The frequency response of the current equalizer settings is visualized. Each band is visualized with a small circle with the number of the band. The currently active band is highlighted. You can activate band by clicking the circles representing each band. If you keep the mouse button down while moving the mouse cursor, you can change the gain and the center frequency of each band directly in the frequency response. You can boost the perceived loudness and remove low frequency audio content, that might distort the ringtone on some cell phones. Settings · Loudness Maximizer Use this slider to set the amount of loudness maximization you want. A value of zero percent means no change and 100% means full maximization. · Bass cut You can use the bass cut to soften frequencies below the cut frequency. A value of around 100 Hz is recommended for most cell phones. Copyright © 2005-2006 Acon Digital Media GmbH 14 3GP Movie Studio User Guide 3.9.4 Delay The delay effect adds echoes to audio track. The Delay settings Settings · Delay time · Feedback The feedback percentage specifies the volume attenuation since the last delay interval. · Dry Level The amount of unprocessed signal in the output mix. · Delay Level The amount of processed signal in the output mix.
