Doorstation BVD-405х is intended for operation in VIZIT doorphones / video doorphones (Series Comfort). The following models are available: - BVD-405А-2 - doorstation to connect 2 apartment handsets UKP; - BVD-405А-4 - doorstation to connect 4 apartment handsets UKP; - BVD-405СP-2 - video doorstation with colour camera to connect 2 video monitors; - BVD-405СP-4 - video doorstation with colour camera to connect 4 video monitors. INSTALLATION ORDER The doorstation is mounted on a wall near your entrance door. The skew base provides 20° turn and allows either leftside or right-side mounting. To protect the doorstation against sun, rain or snow, installation of specially designed Mounting Kit MK-405 is recommended. Installation order of the doorstation together with its sun/rain shield is described in the Mounting Kit MK-405 installation manual. 2

Figure 5 - Recommended doorstation position and camera field of view Wiring diagrams for doorphone / video doorphone are shown in the section ‘EXAMPLES OF WIRING DIAGRAMS’. Use copper wires for connections in accordance with the recommended lengths and cross-sections given in the section ‘EXAMPLES OF WIRING DIAGRAMS’. To reduce possibility of external noises influencing image, use 75-Ohm coaxial cable for video circuits. NOTE The doorstation is supplied wit a blank nameplate. The nameplate is a two-layer plastic plate with black base and silver top layer. It is intended to have inscriptions on it, such as dwellers’ names, apartment or office numbers, company names etc. Inscriptions are made by laser engraving, with removing silver layer and revealing the black base. Please refer to a specialist to have the inscriptions made. Pattern and dimensions for laser engraving are shown on Figure 6. 30.5

To ensure proper fixing, clean the surface of the niche with alcohol, then remove the protective film from the adhesive tape on the nameplate’s back, and firmly attach the nameplate in the niche. 4/11 www.vizit.eu

FUNCTIONAL CHECK AND OPERATING ORDER Before switching the power on, verify all electric connections. • Turn the power supply unit(s) on. • To make a call to the subscriber, press one of the CALL buttons on the doorstation. A call sound rings both in the corresponding monitor (apartment handset) and doorstation, while the CALL button remains pressed. Image appears on the monitor’s screen. Pick up the handset and check duplex intercom. Check image on the monitor’s screen. Adjust image brightness, contrast and saturation, if needed. Press the on the monitor (apartment handset) to release the door lock. The doorstation produces a beep, and the lock stays released while the button remains pressed. Release the button to return to the intercom mode. Hang up the handset. The system goes to the stand-by mode. Note. When called, the subscriber can press the button to release the door lock without picking up the handset. The system goes to the stand-by mode after the button is released. Intercom is available within (60 ± 5) seconds after picking up the handset. If the handset is not picked up in 60 seconds, the system returns to the stand-by mode automatically. • One by one check the rest of connected apartment handsets / monitors for intercom, video (for monitors), remote door unlocking function.
