Page 10 CHANGING THE LATHE SPEEDS To change the lathe speed you must first remove the Pulley Shell (36) which is attached by the two Bottom Head Screws (35). Next you must create slack in the V-Belt (23) by turning the Movable Joint Bolt (167) counterclockwise. Once there is sufficient slack in the V-Belt, remove it from the two pulleys and re- position it on different grooves on the pulleys to change the speed. The smallest groove on the Motor Pulley (168) will produce the speed of 500 RPM. The middle groove on the Motor Pulley (168) will produce the speed of 900 RPM. The largest groove on the Motor Pulley (168) will produce a speed of 1600 RPM. After you have repositioned the V-Belt turn the Moveable Joint Bolt (167) until you have the proper tension on the belt. Then tighten the nut (172) to lock it in place. The final step is to replace the Pulley Shell (36). DAILY LUBRICATION POINTS FIGURE F CLEANING, INSPECTION, AND MAINTENANCE 1.
