QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE 4G Desktop Modem 4G Speed WiFi Access Plug and Play Voice Service Contents Your 4G box contains the following items: 4G Desktop Modem (DX 825) Power Adapter LAN Cable Get to know your modem Note: It is recommended that the modem is placed near a window Power Connector 1 VOIP Ports WiFi Status Authentication Steady PURPLE Status Steady ON 4G Signal Strength Steady ON LAN Ports Connecting your devices Window Communication Tower 4G Desktop Modem (DX 825) 1 2 LAN Port 3 DC Power Port 4 Phone Port Phone Cable (not included) 2 How do you set up your 4G connection? 4G Setup Procedure Step 1: Position Modem Place the modem near a window for better signal reception. Window P1 DX 825 Desktop modem (Near the window) WiFi enabled computers Step 2: Power On Plug the Power Adapter into the Wall Socket and the Power Adapter’s tip into the modem’s DC Power Port. All LED lights will be ON for about 5 seconds. After that, they will turn off automatically. DC Power Port 3 Power Adapter Wall Socket Step 3: Establish 4G Connection Once powered on, the modem will automatically connect to the 4G network. The following will occur in order. One green LED is blinking: Searching for 4G signal Two green LEDs are blinking: Connecting to 4G network Three green LEDs are blinking: Obtaining IP address When the modem has successfully logged on to the network, the following LED pattern will remain ON to indicate the signal strength. One green LED is on: Good Two green LEDs are on: Strong Three green LEDs are on: Excellent The more green LEDs light up, the stronger your 4G signal. Connection Authentication Status Steady ON 4G mode Blinking Scanning and connecting for 4G connection Steady ON SIM card issues Blinking Detecting SIM card Steady ON WiMAX mode Blinking Scanning and connecting for WiMAX connection Blue Purple Orange Red 4 Step 4: Connect Your Computer Connect one end of the LAN Cable to your modem’s LAN Port and the other end to your Computer/Laptop’s LAN Port. Once the connection is secured, the LAN Port’s green LED (next to the LAN Port) will light up. The LAN Port amber LED may blink, indicating that data is being transferred between your Computer/Laptop and the modem. LAN Port L LAN Cable Computer Step 5: Click On Your Internet Browser You are now connected to the Internet How do you set up your WiFi connection? WiFi Connection When the WiFi LED lights up it indicates that the WiFi of the modem is enabled. When the WiFi LED starts blinking, it indicates that data is being transmitted. Step 1 Switch on the WiFi Adapter on your laptop. WiFi Switch on a Laptop Step 2 Right-click the Wireless Network Connection icon at the bottom right of the screen. Select “View Available Wireless Networks” Click View Available Wireless Networks Right-click this icon. 5 Step 3 Select the default SSID that is printed at the bottom of your modem. Click “Connect”. You will be prompted to key in the WiFi password. The default WiFi password is printed at the bottom of your modem. WiFi Password:XXXXXXXXXX Step 4 You are now connected to the Internet. If you want to change the default SSID or WiFi password, open any Internet browser and enter http://10.1.1.254 in the address bar for modem configuration. Username: admin Password: admin123 How do you set up your phone service? Follow these simple steps to activate your subscribed phone services. For more information on P1 Voice service subscription, please contact our P1 Careline at p1.com.my/customercare or visit http://www.p1.com.my/voice/ Phone Service Setup Procedure Step 1: Connect Your Phone Connect one end of the Phone Cable (RJ-11) to the Phone Port on the modem and the other end to the Phone. Phone Cable (Not included) Phone Port Phone Note: 1. If you subscribe to 1 Phone Plan, connect the Phone Cable (RJ-11) to Phone Port 1. 2. If you subscribe to 2 Phone Plans, connect the Phone Cables (RJ-11) to Phone Port 1 for the first line and Phone Port 2 for the second line. 6 Step 2: Establish Phone Service Connection Once the Phone Cable (RJ-11) is connected to both your modem and phone, the blue phone LED will light up. You can now access your subscribed P1 Voice service. Phone LED indicates blue: Phone service is ready Phone Authentication Status Phone 1 Status Phone 2 Status Phone 1 & 2 Status Steady ON Phone service registered and ready Blinking Phone 1 in use Steady ON Phone service registered and ready Blinking Phone 2 in use Steady ON Phone service registered and ready Blinking Phone 1 & 2 in use Blue Orange Red Purple How to reset the modem?
