Shut off engine, apply the parking brake and chock the wheels. 2. Disconnect the batteries. 3. Remove the passenger side fairings if applicable. 4. Remove the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) outlet temperature sensor (3). 5. Remove the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) outlet pressure sensor tube (4). 6. Remove the six outboard heat shield mounting bolts (2). 7. Remove the outboard heat shield (1) from the 1-BOX™ configuration by disengaging the folded flange on the top of the outboard heat shield. 4 All information subject to change without notice. Slide the inboard heat shield down allowing better access to the inboard (DPF) filter, V-band and flat band clamp. NOTE: Record the orientation of the bands and clamps. They will need to be installed in the same location. 9. Loosen the outboard V-band and flat band clamps on the outboard Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Slide both the outboard flat band (1) and the V-band clamp (3) inward on the outboard DPF (2). 11. Remove the outboard DPF assembly (2) from the 1-BOX™ configuration and discard the flat band and V-band gasket (1). 6 All information subject to change without notice. Slide both the inboard flat band (1) and the V-band clamp (3) inward on the inboard DPF (2). Clean mating surface for the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), flat band and V-band clamp areas. 2. Install the V-band clamp and a new flat band clamp. 3. Slide the V-band (3) and the flat band clamp (1) inward on the DPF (2). 4. Install a new v-band gasket (1) on the DOC outlet. 5. Ensuring that the ID tag is visible from the side of the vehicle, install the inboard diesel particulate filter (2) into the 1BOX™ configuration. Install W470589026200 or equivalent and use adjusting screw on tool (1) to raise the DPF (2) to be level with the mating surface for the flat band clamp. 7. Slide the inboard flat band clamp into the correct location and hand tighten the nuts on the flat band clamp. 8. Slide the inboard V-band clamp into place and start nut. 9. Verify that the clamps are in the same location they were in before removing the DPF. 10 All information subject to change without notice. Torque the inboard V-band clamp to 13-17 N·m (10-12 lb·ft). Loosen the adjusting screw on the tool and pull up sharply to remove it from 1-BOX™ configuration. Install the outboard V-band clamp onto the outboard Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC). Install a new outboard flat band clamp onto the outboard DPF. Install a new V-band gasket (1) onto the outboard DOC outlet. Ensuring the ID tag is visible from the side of the vehicle, install the DPF (2) into the 1-BOX™ configuration. 17. 18. 19. 20. 21. Slide the outboard V-band clamp into the correct location and hand tighten the nuts on the V-band clamp. Slide the outboard flat band clamp into place and start nut. Verify that the clamps are in the same location they were in before removing the DPF. Torque the outboard flat band clamp to 42-47 N·m (31-34 lb·ft). Torque the outboard V-band clamp (1) to 13-17 N·m (10-12 lb·ft). Torque four bolts to 9-10 N·m (80-88 lb·in.). 23. Install outboard heat shield (2) and torque six bolts (1) to 9-10 N·m (80-88 lb·in.). 12 All information subject to change without notice. Apply anti-seize to the threads and install the DOC outlet temperature sensor and torque to 35-38 N·m (26-28 lb·ft). Install the DPF outlet pressure sensor tube. Torque the tube nut to 27-30 N·m (20-22 lb·ft). Connect the batteries. If the DPF's have been replaced with a new or a remanufactured core, use DDDL 7.X to reset the ash accumulator.
