Please do not put the set into closed areas and do not cover it. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Power • Always use the provided AC adaptor. • Operate only from the power source specied on the AC adaptor. • The power adaptor may become hot during normal operation. This is not a malfunction. • Please make sure that the adaptor is not covered while in operation. Leave a space of 15 cm (minimum) around the AC adaptor. • The rating information and safety caution of the AC adaptor are provided on the adaptor. WARNING: When the set is not in use for a long time, disconnect from the power. Power Cord Do not place the unit, a piece of furniture, etc., on the power cord (mains lead), or pinch the cord. Handle the power cord by the plug. Do not pull out the plug by tugging the cord and never touch the power cord when your hands are wet as this could cause a short circuit or electric shock. Never make a knot in the cord or tie it with other cords. The power cords should be routed in such a way that they are not likely to be stepped on. A damaged power cord can cause re or give you an electrical shock. Check the power cord once in a while. When you nd it damaged, ask closest service agent for help. When the AC power cord needs to be changed, it should be done at a qualied service shop only. • Please avoid the contact of the set with water or humidity. Do not put into operation near bath, swimming pools. • Take care to provide a good air circulation. Place the apparatus in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat build-up in the apparatus. • Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet, unplug the apparatus and have it checked by qualied personnel before operating it any further. Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects lled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. The mains plug is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable. CAUTION Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, re or the like. • Please do not place the set in a place subject to direct sun light, excessive dust or mechanical shock or in a location near heat sources. • The set should be placed on a solid and safe base. Put in both batteries 1.5Volt (RO3/AAA) referring to the imprinted symbols (+/-) in the battery case and put on the battery cover again. While using the remote control, direct it towards the front side of the receiver. If the remote control does not work or the chosen function does not work, the batteries are most probably exhausted and they should be replaced as soon as possible. Please use only the leak proof batteries. It is best to remove the batteries from the remote unit if you will not be using the remote control unit for long time. CONNECTION TO A TV Connect your set-top box with a scart cable using the TV scart connector on the rear panel to your television’s scart connector. The set-top box gives RGB or CVBS output. If you want to get the picture via scart connector and your TV’s scart connector has an RGB input, then you can switch your digital set-top box to RGB mode, by toggling TV out menu to RGB mode, in conguration menu. So, you will be able to achieve high performance from your digital set-top box. For this, an adaptor is used which gives 12 V voltage. Connect this adaptor to a system that supplies 220-240V AC,50Hz. • After unpacking, allow the set-top box to reach the ambient room temperature before you connect the set to the mains. POWER ON/OFF Be sure that you put through all the cable connections. After plugging in the mains cord of the set-top-box to the mains supply, a light will be seen on the front panel (Standby mode). When the set-top-box is rst powered up please wait for some time before activating the receiver since booting of software will take some time. Then, you can turn on your digital set-top box by pressing the standby button on the remote control. You will see that the light on the front panel will change (Power on mode). Auto Power Down: This box will automatically switched from active mode into standby mode, after less than three hours in active mode, following the last user interaction and/or a channel change with an alert message two minutes before going in to standby mode. This feature allows you to play les stored in a USB drive or record programmes. • 2.5” and 3.5” inch (hdd with external power supply) external hard disk drives are supported. • To record a programme, you should rst connect a USB disk to your box while the it is switched off. You should then switch on the box to enable recording feature. Otherwise, recording feature will not be available. IMPORTANT ! • You may back up your les before making any connections to the box in order to avoid any possible data loss. Note that manufacturer will not be responsible for any le damage or dataloss. • It is possible that certain types of USB devices (e.g. MP3 Players) or USB hard disk drives/ memory sticks may not be compatible with this device. IMPORTANT: The device supports only FAT32 disk formatting. NTFS format is not supported. If you connect a USB disk with NTFS format, the you will be asked to format the content. See the section, “Format Disk” in the following pages for more information on disk formatting. Note that ALL the data stored on the USB disk will be lost and then the disk format will be converted to FAT32 in such a case. USB Disk Connection • Plug your USB device to the USB input of the box. Note: Plug or unplug your USB disk while the box is switched off. Note: If you are going to connect a USB hard disk drive to the box, USB connection cable used between the disk drive and the box should have a USB logo and should be as short as possible. Note: While formatting a USB hard disk that has 1TB (Tera Byte) or more le capacity, you can experience problems with the formatting process. In such a case, you should format the disk with your personal computer and the formatted disk type should be FAT32. CAUTION ! • Quickly plugging and unplugging USB devices, is a very hazardous operation. Especially, do not repeatedly quickly plug and unplug the drive. This may cause physical damage to the USB player and especially the USB device itself. • Do not pull out USB module while playing or recording a le. Programme Recording IMPORTANT: When using a new USB hard disk drive, it is recommended that you rst format the disk using your device’s “Format Disk” option. • For using recording function, you should connect a USB disk or an external hard disk drive to the box and connected USB disk should have at least 1 GB capacity and should have 2.0 speed compatibility. If the connected USB device does not support 2.0 speed, an error message will be displayed. • An hour of the recordings stored occupies approximately 2 GB of space. • For more information on recording programmes, see sections “Instant Recording”, “Electronic Programme Guide”, “Recordings Library” or “Recording Timers” in the following parts. Recorded programmes are stored in the following directory of the connected USB disk: \DVR\ RECS. An .idx le is created for each recording. This le includes information such as broadcaster, programme, and recording time. English - 8 50182471_IB_DVB_680_T8010 WALKER WP12DTB-R_ENG_W.indd 8 21.03.2011 11:03:27 FIRST TIME INSTALLATION When the box is opened from stand-by mode and if there is no channel stored in the database, First Time Installation Menu window is displayed on the screen. In the first window, menu language is asked. then, the active antenna selection OSD appears on the screen: By pressing “ ” or “ ” buttons, set active antenna mode as on or off. Then “Do you want to start an automatic channel scan?” pop-up menu is displayed. Auto search can be started by selecting the “Yes” button. The box will automatically nd the channels and store them for you. By pressing the “ ” or “ ” buttons highlight the language you want to set and press OK button. After then, “First time installation” OSD will appear on the screen. To start installation process, select “Yes”, to cancel select “No”. The set-top box will automatically tune to the channels. You can press the “MENU” button at any time during the process. TIMESHIFTING After choosing the country, you have to set your TV type in the next window. IMPORTANT: To record a programme, you should rst connect a USB memory stick to your box while the box is switched off. You should then switch on the box to enable recording feature. Otherwise, recording feature will not be available. • Press (PAUSE) button while watching a broadcast for switching to timeshifting mode. The next menu will ask you to choose the HDMI resolution. If you intend just using the Scart output then just press OK and continue the scanning process. Using the [LEFT] or [RIGHT] buttons on the remote control, you can select between; 576p, 720p and 1080i. Please check the HDMI resolutions supported by your TV set and select the most appropriate one from this menu. After • In timeshifting mode, the programme is paused and simultaneously recorded to the connected USB memory stick (*). Press (PAUSE) button again to watch the paused programme from the stopped moment. • This playback is performed in x1 playback speed. You will see the timeshift gap between the real and the timeshifted programme in the info bar. • Use (Rewind/Forward) buttons to move forward or backward on timeshift playback. When the timeshift is reached, timeshifting mode will be quitted and you will switch back to watching normal broadcast. (*) Similtaneous timeshifting recording’s duration depends on your connected USB memory stick’s le size and dened Max. Timeshift in the Recordings Conguration menu. See the section, “Recordings” for more information on setting Max. Timeshift. Note: Switching to a different broadcast or source; and viewing main menu are not available during the recording INSTANT RECORDING IMPORTANT: To record a programme, you should rst connect a USB disk to your box while the box is switched off. You should then switch on the box to enable recording feature. Otherwise, recording feature will not be available. Select Yes by using “ ” or “ ” / OK buttons to cancel instant recording. Note: Switching to a different broadcast and viewing Media Browser are not available during the recording. WATCHING RECORDED PROGRAMMES In the main menu, highlight Recordings Library item by using “ ” or “ ” button and press OK button to enter. Recordings Library will then be displayed. IMPORTANT: To view recordings library, you should rst connect a USB disk to your box while the box is switched off. You should then switch on the box to enable recording feature. Otherwise, recording feature will not be available. • Press (RECORD) button to start recording an event instantly while watching a programme. The following OSD appears on the screen: Select a recorded item from the list (if previously recorded) by using “ ” or “ ” button. OK: Starts the recording from the beginning. • Record OSD will then be displayed for a short time and the current event will be recorded. • You can press (RECORD) button on the remote control again to record the next event on the EPG. In this case, OSD will display the programmed events for recording. (Resume): Resumes the playback. Note: Viewing main menu and menu items will not be available during the playback. MHEG TELETEXT With digital terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T),in addition to pictures and sound, you can also view digital teletext. Digital teletext is sometimes broadcast at the same time with the normal broadcasting. • Press the TELETEXT or RED button. • The digital teletext information appears. • Operate it with the coloured buttons, cursor buttons and OK button. • Press (STOP) button to cancel instant recording. The following OSD will be displayed: The operation method may differ depending on the contents of the digital teletext. Follow the instructions displayed on digital teletext screen. • When the TEXT button is pressed, the box returns to television broadcasting. MAIN MENU The Main Menu is accessed, pressing the MENU button. The items accessed through the Main Menu are: 1.) Channel List 2.) Programme guide 3.) Timers 4.) Recording Timers 5) Recording Library Navigating the Entire Channel List In the channel table “ ”/“ ” serves for moving the focus to the previous or next channel, RED / GREEN button for page up and page down. To watch a specic channel highlight it using, RED BUTTON / GREEN button then press OK. Then the name and number of the selected channel will be displayed on the bottom of the preview screen. If the selected channel is password protected then a pop up menu is displayed. If the correct code is entered then the selected channel can be watched. Also you can select another channel by navigating with “ ”/“ ”buttons. The scroll Bar in middle of the screen shows relative position of the currently visible channels with respect to the whole list. Moving the channels in the channel list 6.) Setup 7.) Media Browser CHANNEL LIST The following operations can be performed in this menu: 1. Navigating the whole list of channels 2. Moving channels 3. Deleting unwanted channels 4. Renaming channels 5. Adding locks to channels 6. Setting the favourite list Channel table is the place where the channels are managed. Reordering the list can be done by moving the programs one by one to new positions. In order to do that, the “Move” button should be highlighted by pressing the “ ”/“ ” keys. Using the “ ”/“ ” keys, select the programme which should be moved and press the OK button. Then, enter the new channel number of the programme you want to move and the programme will be settled as you entered. In some countries, the order of the channels is arranged automatically by the broadcaster. This is called logical channel number (LCN). If the selected country has LCN support, the channels will be enumerated one by one, beginning from number 1. You cannot move any programme to a position after the last saved one. If you try to do this, both programmes will change their places. If LCN support is not available, you can move the channels between 1-999. If you want to move or delete channels, the LCN Service will be switched off. Deleting Channels To delete a channel highlight it using “ ”/“ ”/RED/GREEN, then highlight the “Delete” button using “ ”/“ ” and press OK. a message is displayed to conrm your decision, if you still want to delete press OK once more and the channel will be deleted, else the operation will be cancelled if you select “NO”. Following previous procedure, the name appears on the middle of the screen with the first character highlighted. Now “ ”/“ ” moves to the previous/ next character. “ ”/“ ” toggles the current character, i.e., ‘b’ character becomes ‘a’ on “ ” and ‘c’ on “ ”. Pressing the numeric buttons ‘0...9’ replaces the highlighted character with the characters printed above the button one by one as the button is pressed. Pressing MENU cancels the editing and OK saves the new name. be added / removed to/from the favourite list using “ ”/“ ”, choose the favourite list name (in which the program will be added) using “ ”/“ ” buttons then press OK. Pressing Menu button saves all your settings PROGRAMME GUIDE Adding Locks to Channels Channel Locking provides a password-protected access to channels selected by parents. In order to lock a channel you should know the parental Lock password (set to 0000 in the factory and can only be changed from the Conguration Menu), then highlight the channel to be locked and select the “Lock” button, when OK is pressed a password dialog is displayed. Enter the parental Lock code, press OK and the Lock icon will be displayed in front of the selected channel. Repeat the same operation to cancel the Lock. Setting Favourites Electronic Program Guide appears on the screen. It is able to get Information of the channel programs weekly by means of 7-DAY–EPG. All programs of channels are displayed. The current program is highlighted and if you press the info button, there will be a brief information about the programs of the channel, such as: name, short/ extended event description, start & end time. By pressing “ ”/“ ” buttons continuously the time scale can be changed. If there is any event information data available only program names and dates are displayed. Across the bottom of the screen there is an info bar showing all the available commands which are listed below. RED button (Shrink): makes the info boxes smaller. GREEN button (Expand) : makes the info boxes larger. Favourite list provide an easy way to group programs in a customizable way. In the channel list Table menu the programs can only be added or removed from a favourite list. YELLOW button (Prev. Day) : displays the programmes of previous day. BLUE button (Next day) : displays the programmes of the next day. In order to add or remove a program from a INFO (Details): displays the programmes in favourite list, highlight the “Favourite” button detail. using “ ”/“ ” buttons, the favourite submenu will be displayed. Numeric buttons (Jump) : go to preferred channel directly via numeric buttons. To cancel an already set reminder, highlight that programme and press the OK button. Then select “Delete Timer” option. The timer will be cancelled. Record/Stop: the box will record or stop the selected progamme. Note: It is not possible to record or set timer for two or more individual events at the same time interval. Otherwise, recording feature will not be available. TIMERS Note: Switching to a different broadcast is not available during the recording. / : Page left / Page right. (TEXT): activates “Guide Search” window. (Now): Jumps to the current broadcast. Programme Options In EPG menu, press the OK button to enter the “Programme Options” menu. Select Channel In EPG menu, using this option, you can switch to the selected channel. Record / Delete Record Timer IMPORTANT: To record a programme, you should rst connect a USB disk to your box while the box is switched off. You should then switch on the box to enable recording feature. Otherwise, recording feature will not be available. After you have selected a programme in EPG menu, press the OK button and and Options screen will be displayed. Select “Record” option and press the OK button. After this operation, a recording becomes set to the selected programme. To cancel an already set recording, highlight that programme and press the OK button and select the option “Delete Rec. Timer”. The recording will be cancelled. Note: You cannot switch to any other channel or source while there is an active recording on the current channel. To display timers window, activate the item from the main menu. To add a timer, press the YELLOW button on the remote control. Then “Add Timer” window appears. Channel: “ ”/“ ” keys will navigate the user through the TV or Radio list. Date: Starting date is entered via the Left/Right or the numeric buttons. Start: Starting time is entered via the Left/Right or the numeric buttons. End: Ending time is entered via the Left/Right or the numeric buttons. Duration: Duration between Start and End time. Change/Delete : permits or prohibits any modications for other users. You can save the adjustments by pressing the GREEN key or cancel the process by pressing the RED button. You can edit the list via GREEN key and delete with the RED button Set Timer / Delete Timer After you have selected a programme in EPG menu, press the OK button and and Options screen will be displayed. Select “Set Timer” option and press OK button. You can set a timer for future programmes. You should then switch on the box to enable recording feature. Otherwise, recording feature will not be available. You can set or display programmed recording timers (for recording on a USB disk) by using Recording Timers menu. Press the MENU button to display the main menu and use the “” or “” button to highlight the “Recording Timers” line and press the OK button. All available recording timers will be displayed. You can add, remove or display previously set timers via this screen: Parental Settings”. You might be asked to enter your PIN code. Change / Delete: permits or prohibits any modications for other users. You might be asked to enter your PIN code. After setting options you prefer, you should press GREEN button to save a recording timer. Press RED button to cancel. Editing a Recording Timer Select a timer in the Recording Tiners menu by pressing “” or “” button. Press GREEN button on the remote control and Modify Timer OSD will be displayed on the screen. You can set desired preferences and when completed, you can press GREEN button to save your settings. Deleting a Recording Timer Select a timer in the Recording Timers menu by pressing “” or “” button. Press RED button on the remote control to delete. A conrmation screen will be displayed: “Delete this timer?”. Select YES to delete the timer or select NO to cancel.. The green line at the bottom of the screen displays available disk space. Red line indicates used disk space. Note: It is not possible to record or set timer for two individual events at the same time interval. Adding a Recording Timer Press YELLOW button on the remote control to add a recording timer to this list. The following screen appears to add a timer: Channel: Selects a channel. RECORDINGS LIBRARY IMPORTANT: To view recordings library, you should rst connect a USB disk to your box while the box is switched off. You should then switch on the box to enable recording feature. Otherwise, recording feature will not be available. To view the list of recordings, press the MENU button to display the main menu and use the “ ” or “ ” button to highlight the “Recordings Library” line and press the OK button. Recordings Library will then be displayed with available recordings. Record Type: Denes recording type. Date: Starting date is entered via the Left/Right and the numeric buttons. SETUP The adjustments in this menu are given as the following: End Late You set recording timer’s starting time to start later by using this setting. Format Disk IMPORTANT: Note that ALL the data stored on the USB disk will be lost and then the disk format will be converted to FAT32 if you activate this feature. • If you want to delete all les on the connected USB hard disk drive or memory stick, you can use Format Disk option. • Also, if your USB disk malfunctions, you can try formatting the USB disk. In most cases formatting the USB disk will restore normal operation; however, ALL the data stored on the USB disk will be lost in such a case. • Press OK button while the Format Disk option is highlighted. A menu will appear on the screen, requiring you to enter a pin number. If you have not changed the pin number, the factory default is 0000. After you enter the pin, a pop-up menu appears on the screen to ensure that the hard disk should be formatted, select “YES” and press OK to format the hard disk. Select “NO” and press OK to cancel. Ensure you back up important recordings before you format the USB disk unit. Hard Disk Info Recordings Select Recordings item in the Setup menu to configure recording settings. The following menu is displayed for recording conguration. To view the details about the USB disk, highlight Hard Disk Info by using “ ” or “ ” key and press OK. Select Conguration from Setup menu and press OK to enter this menu. Press the BACK button on the remote to exit. Use “ ”/“ ” buttons to go to Active Antenna Setting. The setting will be OFF as default. If you want connect the receiver to an active antenna that is an instrument amplifying the received signal then you must change the Antenna Power Supply setting to ON. The DVB-T receiver can supply 30mA (5V active antenna output). Please do not use a normal passive antenna (do not short circuit the ANT IN connector) while Antenna Power Supply setting is ON. This may cause to a breakdown in your DVB-T receiver. Auto Power Down Low Power If you select YES, low power mode will be activated. In low power mode the power consumption is less then 1 W (in standby). The front display will show no time information (in standby). If low power mode is deactivated, all functions will be reactivated. Favourite Mode This function enables or disables the favourite channel list mode by pressing “ ”/“ ” buttons. If a favourites list exists it will switch to the list number selected. If there is no favourite listing, a warning message is displayed. Channel List Use “ ”/“ ” buttons to go to Channel List option. Use “ ”/“ ” buttons to toggle Channel List Mode. If you select “TV Only” you navigate through only TV channels, if you select “Radio Only” you navigate through only radio channels, if you navigate “Text Only” you navigate through only Text channels with the PR+/PR- buttons. If you choose “Show All” all, channels can be navigated with the PR+/PR- buttons. To save the recent changes and exit; press the MENU button. This box will automatically switched from active mode into standby mode, after less than three hours in active mode, following the last user interaction and/or a channel change with an alert message two minutes before going in to standby mode. The Automatic power-down will be set as default and the user will be able to change Automatic power down to on or off in the menu Receiver Upgrade To ensure that your digital receiver always has the most up to date software. Please ensure that after use it is set to its standby mode. The Receiver automatically powers up at 3AM each day and searches for any new information which may be broadcast and will download this to your box automatically. This operation will normally take approximately 30 minutes. If you have an important recording to make at 3AM which must not have a 30 minutes interrupt then you can disable the auto OAD search by performing the following: 1. Press Menu button and using the “ ”/“ ”buttons highlight SETUP and CONFIGURATION and press the OK button, 2. Use the “ ”/“ ” buttons to highlight “RECEIVER UPGRADE” and press OK button. 3. Using the “ ”/“ ” button change “Automatic scanning” from Enabled to Disabled. 4. Utilize the “ ”/“ ” button to highlight “Scan for Upgrade” and press OK. 5. If there is a new software version the receiver will start to search. NOTE: If there is no new software to download, this procedure will take only about 20-30 seconds.If the new software is available and when you switch on the box from standby, a conrmation message will appear on the screen about new software download. We recommend that you should update your box. Audio Settings * Display Format By pressing the “ ” / “ ” keys the “Display Format” option is highlighted. Using the “ ” / “ ” keys, it can be adjusted as Full or Pillarbox. * TV out The receiver can output RGB, and CVBS signal from the TV SCART on the rear panel. Although the RGB format results in a better quality picture. Not all equipment can cope with an RGB signal. * HDMI Resolution * Dolby Digital audio Use the “ ”/“ ” buttons to go to the Digital Audio Out option. Use the “ ”/“ ” buttons to change between PCM and Compressed. If you choose Compressed and you select a broadcasting with Compressed audio, the default audio output will be Compressed, but if you choose PCM, the audio output will be PCM Stereo. Note that you need a digital audio amplier with Compressed support connected to Digital optical output, to experience Compressed audio. * Audio Delay By pressing “ ”/“ ” or numeric buttons on the remote control, you can set to Audio Delay to desired value.This option is functional only for Spdif audio out. * Heard Of Hearing Use “ ”/“ ” button to select Hard of Hearing and then press“ ”/“ ” button to set this setting as On or Off. If the broadcaster enables any special signal concerning the audio, you can set this setting as On to receive such signals. Video Settings * TV type Digital terrestrial television channels can broadcast programmes in a widescreen format which must be output differently to normal and widescreen TV sets. This function tells the receiver the screen format of the TV connected so that broadcasts are displayed correctly. Highlight the TV Type line in the Conguration menu and use the “ ”/“ ” buttons to select “4:3” if you have a standard TV set connected or “16:9” if it is a widescreen TV. This function duplicates the selection made at the time of rst installation and can be used if you change TV sets. This receiver can give HDMI output in 3 different resolutions: 576p, 720p and 1080i from the HDMI connector on the rear panel. In order to get best picture quality, please check the HDMI resolutions supported by your TV set and select the most appropriate one from this menu. Note that only stored channels can be watched over HDMI, not VCR input. This function duplicates the selection made at the time of rst installation. Parental Control Use “ ”/“ ” buttons to go to “Parental Control” option. Press OK button to enter the menu. A box asking for the lock button is displayed. The button is set to “0000” initially. Enter lock button. If it is incorrect, “Wrong Pin” is displayed. If it is correct, the Parental Control Menu is displayed. Maturity Lock Use “ ”/“ ” buttons to go to Maturity Lock option. Use “ ”/“ ” buttons to toggle Maturity Lock Mode. When set, this option gets the maturity information from the broadcast and if this maturity level is disabled, does not show video-audio. Menu Lock In menu lock you can set locking for All Menus, or the Installation Menu to restrict access to these menu’s.If the menu lock is disabled, there will be free access to the menu system. Use “ ”/“ ” buttons to go to Menu Lock option. Use “ ”/“ ” buttons to choose Menu Lock Mode. Disabled : All menus are unlocked. All Menus : All Menus are accessible only with the correct lock button. So the user can’t add, delete, rename, channels, can’t set timers. Changes will be updated after exiting ‘Conguration Menu’. In this menu the user can adjust the preferred language. Language is changed by pressing OK button. Set Pin Use “ ”/“ ” buttons to go to “Set PIN” option. Press OK to display the “Set PIN” window. Use NUMERIC buttons to enter new pin number you will need to input your new pin a second time for verication purposes. If both pin numbers are four digits long and the same, the pin will be changed. The factory default pin number is 0000, if you change the pin number make sure you write it down and keep it safe. Menu: shows the language of the system Preferred Time Settings These settings will be used if available. Otherwise the current settings will be used. • Audio: by pressing “ ” or “ ” keys change the audio language. In the conguration menu, highlight the Time Settings item by pressing “ ” or “ ” buttons. Press OK and Time Settings sub menu will be displayed on the screen. Current Time,Time Zone Setting and Time Zone will be available. Use “ ” or “ ” buttons to highlight the Time Zone Setting. Time Zone Setting is set using “ ” or “ ” buttons. It can be set to AUTO or MANUAL. When AUTO is selected, Current Time and Time Zone options will not be available to be set. If MANUAL option is selected as the Time Zone Setting, Time Zone can be altered: • Subtitle: alter the subtitle language with “ ” or “ ” keys. The chosen language will be seen in subtitles. • Guide: By pressing “ ” or “ ” buttons change the guide language. Current • Audio: if audio language is supported change the audio language by pressing “ ” or “ ” buttons • Subtitle: if subtitle is backed up, alter the subtitle language with “ ” or “ ” buttons. The chosen language will be seen in subtitles. • By pressing “ ” or “ ” buttons select Time Zone. Use “ ” or “ ” buttons to change the Time Zone between GMT-12 or GMT+12. Current Time on the top of the menu list will then change according to the selected Time Zone. Press OK and Language Settings submenu will be displayed on the screen: Automatic search is started by selecting OK in the auto-search pop up menu. All the multiplexes are searched and a channel table is created automatically. Any existing channels will be erased. All channels found are stored in a sorted form with respect to their channel numbers. Use “ ” or “ ” buttons to highlight the menu item that will be adjusted and then press “ ” or “ ” button to set. Notes: • System Language determines the on-screen menu language. • Audio Language is used for selecting the soundtrack of a channels. • Primary settings are the rst priority when multiple choices are available on a broadcast. Secondary settings are the alternatives when the rst options are not available. • Movie Subtitle options functions as described above. Note: Language menu may vary in accordance with your country selection. Installation The Installation menu mainly intends to help you for building a Channel Table into your receiver in most efcient way. These are located in Installation Menu: 1. Automatic Search Note: When the box is in standby mode, available broadcasts will be search and stored. If the box locates any missing broadcasts, a menu screen will be displayed, asking you whether or not to execute these changes. If any new channels found while in standby mode, the box will add all new channels to programme list automatically.(Optional) Manual Channel After the OK button is pressed, in Installation Menu, the Manual Search window appears on the screen. Manual search can be done in 2 different ways. 1.Channel search: Only Channels can be searched. Enter the number by using the numeric buttons and press OK to commence. 2.Frequency search: Channels can be searched according to their frequencies. Enter the number via numeric buttons and press OK to begin. Network Search(*) 2. Manual Search Network search is started by selecting OK in the network-search pop up menu. All the multiplexes are searched and a channel table is updated automatically. 3. Network Search* 4. Clear Service List* 5. First Time Installation (*) This function is not supported for all country option. Select Yes by pressing “ ”/“ ” button and press OK to delete all of the channels. (*) This function is not supported for all country option. First Time Installation The user can use this item to load default settings, which had been loaded to the receiver at the factory. To install factory settings, highlight ‘First Time Installation’ menu and press OK button, then you will be asked to conrm for deleting all channels and settings. By selecting YES and pressing the OK button, the whole channel table will be deleted. After the factory settings are loaded, ‘First Time Installation’ will begin. Play This : plays the selected le Play This+Loop : plays the selected file repeatedly. Play+Loop : plays all media les starting with the selected le repeatedly. Play+Loop+Shufe : plays the les randomly. If shufe mode is enabled previous/next functions will also jump to the tracks randomly. Play : plays all media les in the folder starting with the selected one. Pause/Resume : Pause and resume playing le. Stop : Stop the playing le. Previous/Next : jumps to previous or next le to play. MEDIA BROWSER You can play the MP3 JPEG or AVI les from a USB device like memory stick, multiple card reader etc. When you connect a USB device, the receiver recognizes it automatically and displays USB Drive 1, USB drive 2 etc. icons on screen. Which device you want to use, please highlight it using direction buttons and press OK button. Viewing JPEG Files Note: Some USB compliant devices may not be supported. Note: If USB device is not recognized after power off/on or First Time Installation, rst, plug the USB device out and power off/on the box. Plug the USB device in again. Jump : jump to selected le using the numeric buttons. OK : views the selected picture in full screen. Pause : Pause the slideshow. Continue : Continue with the slideshow. Previous/Next : Jump to previous or next le of slideshow. EXIT : Back to le list. Shuffle : Shows the files randomly and continuous in current folder and icon turns the highlighted icon. If during a slideshow the shufe mode is enabled, the next pictures will be choosen randomly (If the loop function is not enabled, the slideshow will stop at the end. If the loop function is enabled, after the slideshow ends, it will start again and again). Loop : Slideshow goes on continuously and icon turns the highlighted icon. When there is no channel stored in the box, Timer Menu, Channel Table Menus are not accessible. Channel navigation is not allowed. Therefore, trying to enter these menus or do channel navigation will display a warning message on the screen. When there is no menu on the screen, you can switch between Favourite Lists using the FAV. button. If the favourite list is empty, following warning message is displayed: Info : Activates the operations bar. Video Playback : Plays le.  : Stops the playback. : Pauses the playback. Rewind / Forward ( Goes forward. ) : Goes backward/ MENU button : Sets subtitle. • You can set subtitles by using OK button before starting the playback or by using MENU button during the playback. Numeric Buttons: Pressing a number button will activate a small digit entry window on the left upper corner of the screen. After a digit is entered, the box will wait for 2 seconds till you enter another digit. If no digit is entered during these 2 seconds, then the box will switch to the entered number channel. When “V+ / V-” buttons are pressed, a banner is displayed, this shows the present volume level graphically. By keeping these buttons pressed, the sound can be increased with “V+” or decreased “V-“ button. When the MUTE button is pressed, a mute symbol is displayed on the screen. This symbol will disappear in 3 or 4 seconds after the MUTE button is pressed. The mute symbol is not displayed on the screen in case of any menu displayed. If a number that is greater than the maximum number of channels is entered, the box will switch automatically to the last channel. Each time the box switches to the desired channel, an information window is displayed on the lower part of the screen. The small bar on top right of the banner indicates the current signal quality. When INFO button is pressed, and when changing channels the information window is displayed on the lower part of the screen. The small bar indicates the program duration. On the channel info window there are: • Current event name next event name, and their start and end times. • Program duration bar. • Program mode (TV or Radio). • Channel number. • Name of the channel. On a blank screen, if you press the up/down buttons, the info banner will appear and you can switch between channels saved in the list. To watch one of them, press the OK button. When switching to a locked channel, lock code is requested via a window as shown in the picture. Only after the correct code is entered, it is allowed to access to this channel. To skip this channel, Channel “P+/P-”buttons must be used.
