ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
SWITCHING ON
ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
Your fan is controlled by a four position switch. !
Select 0 to switch the fan off.

Select 1 to select Low speed.

Select 2 to select Medium speed.

OSCILLATION Warning: Ensure the fan can oscillate freely without hitting any nearby objects. Your fan can be made to oscillate about its axis for cooling a wider area. !
To cause the fan to oscillate press the Oscillator Knob DOWN.

To use the fan in a fixed position lift the knob UP.
Select 3 to select High speed.

Before operating your fan, ensure the switch is set to ‘0’.
OSCILLATE
The mains plug is the means of disconnecting this appliance from the mains electricity. The switch must at all times be unobstructed and freely operable. The appliance cord is terminated with a UK approved mains plug fitted with a 3A fuse. If the fuse needs to be replaced, an ASTA or BSI approved BS1362 fuse rated at 3A must be used.
The means of disconnecting this appliance from the mains supply is the mains plug. This should be unobstructed and readily operable at all times .
ADJUSTING THE ANGLE OF THE FAN Your fan can be angled to point up or down. To do this:
! Switch the fan off. ! Hold the fan at the back of the motor housing and gently but firmly angle the fan up or down. The fan head will pivot around the neck.
To change the angle through which the fan oscillates: ! ! ! ! !
Before using this appliance ensure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the appliance. In the UK this is 230 - 240 volts.
If you need to change the mains plug, remove the fuse and dispose of the old plug safely immediately after cutting it from the cord.
! Plug in the appliance and switch it on at the mains point. Now select the desired speed.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Press the ‘0’ button Lift up the Oscillator knob: Turn the fan head to the desired position. Start the fan. Press the Oscillator knob DOWN.
CONNECTING A MAINS PLUG The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the code: Blue: NEUTRAL, Brown: LIVE. As these colours may not correspond to the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: ! The wire coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured BLUE or BLACK. ! The wire coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured BROWN or RED. ! Do Not connect to the terminal marked with the letter E or coloured GREEN or GREEN & YELLOW or marked with the Earth Symbol
Plastic components may be cleaned with a mild detergent lightly applied to a damp cloth. Remove all traces of detergent with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly before operating the appliance. The exterior surfaces of the appliance should be cleaned occasionally in the manner described above. NEVER spray liquid into any part of the appliance or allow liquid to run into the interior of the appliance. No other maintenance is required. There are no user serviceable parts in the appliance and unauthorised dismantling of the motor or switch unit will render the warranty void. When not in use, the appliance should be securely stored away from sources of moisture and heat and where children and pets cannot access the unit.
WARRANTY Your TESCO appliance is covered by a warranty for 12 months from the date of purchase. If a fault develops during this period, please return it together with your original purchase receipt to your nearest Tesco store. This warranty in no way affects your consumer rights

Loosen the pole clamp just enough to move the pole.

Always tighten the clamp firmly.

The higher the fan is extended the higher the centre of gravity is. Use care when siting a fully extended fan.

Your TESCO fan is just one of a range of high quality valueengineered appliances from Tesco Stores. Thank you for purchasing this appliance; we hope it gives you many years of reliable performance. Before using this appliance please read all these notes and instructions carefully and famliarise yourself with the features of your new appliance. In particular, please study the Assembly pages before assembling your fan.
Unpack all the items carefully and remove all plastic wrappings from the component parts. If any items are damaged or missing, please return the appliance to the store you purchased it from, or to our nearest Tesco store for replacement. Remember to take your receipt with you.
Identify the feet as shown in the illustration
Drop the decorative cover over the pols and place it over the feet as shown.
Retain the packing, or if you decide to dispose of it, make sure that you do so with due regard to any recycling provisions currently in force.

Read these instructions. Keep these instructions. Follow all instructions. Warning: Do NOT use this fan with any solid state voltage regulator or speed control Always use on a dry level and stable surface when operating to avoid overturning. Do not hang or mount the fan on a wall or ceiling. Never use the fan without the guards fitted. Do not insert any object into the fan guards whether the fan is running or not. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. This product is intended for household use only. It must not be used for commercial or industrial purposes.

Replace clamp

B Place the feet on a firm surface with the lower slot in Foot 1 over the upper slot in Foot 2. Remove the four screws and save them.

F Pull the inner column up so that about 150mm protrudes through the top of the lower pole.
Pull on the column to make sure it is securely fixed and cannot be pulled clear of the base.
Line the base of the pole over the screw holes in the base.

G Unscrew and remove the pole clamp. The pole will stay in position with the pressure of the internal collet. If the pole drops down, invert the stand and the pole will reappear!

Unscrew the guard nut from the motor by rotating it anticlockwise. Unscrew the spinner from the motor by rotating it clockwise.

Fit the Rear Guard on the motor housing and align the mounting plate over the three mounting lugs. Replace the guard nut and hand tighten it firmly. Discard the plastic sleeve on the motor shaft.
Screw the base of the pole firmly into the feet with the four screws.

Replace the pole clamp and tighten it securely.

Loosen the screw at the bottom rear of the switch housing. Lower the switch housing onto the inner column. Make sure it is well seated. Tighten the screw firmly with a screwdriver CAUTION: Do NOT loosen the Pole Clamp at any time during this operation as this might result in personal injury or damage to the appliance.
Fit the fan blade onto the motor shaft . There is a flat machined on the motor spindle - align the fan blade so that it fits the spindle correctly. Push the fan blade fully home.
J Screw the spinner anticlockwise to the threaded end of the motor shaft. Tighten firmly.
K Attached to the rear fan guard there are two small screws and nuts. Remove them and keep them safe. The front guard has five hinged clips and one fixed clip which is located at the top of the guard. Open the hinged clips Line up the front and rear guards and slide the front guard over the rear guard hanging it by the fixed clip. There are two small fixing holes in teach guard. Line them up, and loosely fix a screw and nut into each hole Slide the other clips into position to attach the two guards. Now tighten the fixing screws. The fan is now fully assembled.
