53-3902 KLOVER KM-16 PARABOLIC REFLECTOR MiK 16 The parabolic dish collects sound energy and focuses that energy onto a single spot where a microphone would be located. Because the sound energy from a large area is focused on a single point the collector is actually a mechanical amplifier. The Klover requires the use of an omni-directional microphone. Microphones with a nominal diameter up to 7/8”, (22mm), or lapel microphones with the included adapter can be accommodated. Microphones with cardioid pick up pattern may be used if the rear of the pickup pattern is aligned with the outer edges of the parabolic dish. The parabolic reflector can be used in a multitude of applications where a microphone needs to pick up audio from a distance. The MiK 16 is typically capable of acquiring audio up to 250’, (75m, microphone and ambient audio conditions dependent).
