Prepare cable with an appropriate trim tool to dimensions shown. Fold exposed braid back over jacket. Leave foil attached to dielectric. Do not score center conductor. See Figure A. Figure A 1/4 [6.4 mm] 1/4 [6.4 mm] 1/4 [6.4 mm] Quad Shield Cables: Fold outer braid back over jacket, remove outer foil, fold inner braid back over jacket. Leave foil attached to dielectric. Do not score center conductor. 2. Use the width of the connector label as a guide for the cable center conductor trim length. Cable Installation 3. Insert the cable center conductor into socket in the rear of the connector as shown. Push the connector onto cable until the connector pin protrudes as shown in Figures B, C, & D. G-1400-663 09/08 Connector Activation 4. Fully open the compression tool. Place Silver adapter in compression tool for Pin Type “F” and RCA connectors. See Figure E for RCA and Pin Type “F.” No adapter is required for BNC connectors. 5. Slightly angle the connector/cable and insert into the compression tool area between the plunger and the cable yoke. See Figure E for all three types of connectors below. Push the cable into the cable yoke, as shown in Figure F. Compress the connector by squeezing the tool handles together until a positive stop is reached as shown in Figure G. Remove the connector/cable from the tool.
