Caterpillar Color Matching Game - #693 USER’S GUIDE For Technical Support: Call our Technical Service Department Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST) 1-800-TEC-TOYS or 1-800-832-8697 [email protected] 50 Broadway Hawthorne, NY 10532 Tel. 914.747.3070 / Fax 914.747.3480 Toll Free 800.832.8697 www.enablingdevices.com When your switch or the edge of this device is touched, the dice spins and reveals one color. The child then scans and selects the matching color on the caterpillar’s body. When the child matches all the colors, all the lights gently twinkle and a soothing tone is played. Size: 9½" x 7" x 3¾"H. Requires 4 AA Batteries. Troubleshooting: Problem: The unit fails to operate, or operates incorrectly. Operation: 1. Gently turn the unit over to reveal the black battery compartment. Carefully remove the small screw from the battery compartment cover using a Phillips head screwdriver, and slide the battery compartment cover off. Observing polarity, install four AA size batteries into the holder. Alkaline batteries must be used only (e.g. Duracell or Energizer brand). Do not use rechargeable batteries or any other type of batteries because they supply lower voltage and the unit will not perform properly. Replace the battery compartment cover and replace the screw. Action #2: Check your batteries – There is a 99% chance that either one is installed incorrectly and/or one is weak/dead. 2. Plug your switches into the two 1/8" input jacks located on the back side of the unit. The left jack labeled (LED LOCK/DIE VIBRATOR), controls the movement of the dice through vibration and also locks your LED light selection. The right jack labeled (LED ADVANCER) controls the advancing of the LED lights. There is also a GAME RESET button next to the left switch jack. Pressing down on the sides of the game will spin the dice, vibrate and light up one of the LED lights. 3. Once you light up one of the LED lights, you can use your switch plugged into the right side jack to advance through the LED’s. When the desired LED light is selected you can press down on the side of the Caterpillar’s base to lock the LED in, (keep it turned ON) or press and release your switch plugged into the left jack once. When the user matches all the colors (LED’s), all the lights gently twinkle and a soothing tone is played 4. To reset the game simply press the RESET GAME button to clear the game. Action #1: Disconnect the power by removing one of the batteries for 20 seconds in order to reset the unit. Re-install the batteries. Action #3: Make sure that all connections between switches and the Caterpillar game are tight. There should be no gaps. Care of the Unit: The Caterpillar Color Matching Game can be wiped clean with any household multi-purpose, non-abrasive cleaner and disinfectant. Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface of the unit. Do not submerge the unit, as it will damage the electrical components. Rev 7/28/10
