7,200 RPM 2.5-Inch Extended Duty Hard Disk Drives The next generation 7,200 RPM extended duty hard disk drive with Rotational Vibration (RV) compensation technology Utilizing the vast experience and innovative technology developed over 40 years, Toshiba enriches the 2.5-inch SATA hard disk drive (HDD) line-up by offering 7,200 RPM 3 Gb/sec SATA model with industry leading 250GB1 maximum capacity designed for 24/7 operation. Toshiba began building 24/7 operation 2.5-inch ATA hard disk drives in 2003, offering operational features to meet the growing demand of business critical and industrial applications. The 7,200 RPM MHZ2-BK series drives are well suited for blade servers, nearline storage devices, telecommunication devices, and other data-intensive business critical applications. The new series are also designed with features that minimize the adverse effects of rotational vibration, and offers comparable performance to the traditional 3.5-inch SATA drives while reducing power consumption, making it an ideal and ecological storage solution for companies. The MHZ2-BK series drives are some of the many new products announced under Toshiba’s environmental initiatives, unveiled in December 2007 to promote energy efficient products and services as a way to help customers lower their ecological footprint. A computer operating system, however, reports storage capacity using powers of 2 for the definition of 1 GB = 230 = 1,073,741,824 bytes, and therefore shows less storage capacity. Available storage capacity will also be less if the computer includes one or more pre-installed operating systems, pre-installed software applications, or media content. Actual formatted capacity may vary. Visit us at: www.toshibastorage.com 2 This drive was developed and originally sold by Fujitsu and still bears the Fujitsu name. As of October 1, 2009 any orders for this product will be sold by Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. and will use the original Fujitsu Part Number. 3 4 A small portion of buffer memory is used for drive firmware control.
