ADDENDUM Starting the BIOS Version of the Mylex Disk Array Controller Configuration Utilities (DACCF) NOTE: This Addendum overrides information published in the AcceleRAID Installation Guide (Mylex P/N: 775007-00), the DAC960PG and DAC960PJ Controller Installation Guide (Mylex P/N: 775012-00), and in the Disk Array Controller Configuration Utilities Installation Guide and User Manual (Mylex P/N: 771953-04). Specifically, it replaces the following: •

AcceleRAID Installation Guide (775007-00): Information pertaining to the “BIOS Configuration Utility” described in Chapter 4: Controller Start-up, pages 4-2 and 4-3 in sections called “BIOS Start-up Sequence” and “BIOS Configuration Utility.” DAC960PG/PJ Installation Guide (775012-00): Information pertaining to the “BIOS Configuration Utility” described in Chapter 4: Controller Start-up, especially page 4-2 in a section called “BIOS Start-up Sequence.” DACCF Installation Guide and User Manual (771953-04): Information described in Chapter 1: DACCF Quick Start, in the section called “Starting the BIOS Version of DACCF” on pages 1-2 and 1-3.
Introduction Start-up of the BIOS Version of DACCF (the BIOS Configuration Utility), is no longer carried out through the Mylex BIOS Options Menu activated with Alt-M. Alt-R is used to start the utility directly. Follow the instructions described below. Starting the BIOS Configuration Utility 1. Look for the Mylex DAC BIOS banner. It will be in the format: DACxxx BIOS Version n.nn-nn (Date) Mylex Corporation After a few moments, you’ll see some additional messages (including a “Press Alt-M for BIOS options” message), followed by this message: Press
for RAID Configuration options 2. Press Alt-R at this time. If successful, you’ll see the following: RAID Configuration will start after system initialization completes.
3. The configuration utility will start automatically after system initialization. Refer to the Disk Array Controller Configuration Utilities Installation Guide and User Manual (Mylex P/N: 771953-04) for instructions on using the configuration utility. NOTE #1: Continue to access Mylex BIOS options by using Alt-M as described in your hardware installation guide. NOTE #2: If you do not see the Alt-R prompt mentioned above, your controller does not support the BIOS Configuration Utility with its current firmware set.
