Models: 779, 779-D, 779-SDI, 779-DSDI The MediaStar Evolution 779 range of MPEG Encoders are a powerful and ultra reliable, solid state “out of the box” solution for your entire IP Television, Digital Signage and Digital Media encoding and distribution requirements. The units can encode incoming digital or analogue video to an H264 or MPEG2 network stream at either an HD or SD resolution and stream it over an IP network to any networked PC using the MediaStar Evolution desktop viewing software (Part 761) or video screen with MediaStar Evolution Digital Media Decoder (Part 780). Its unique multi format input circuitry allows users to input content in a wide variety of video and PC formats, HDMI; YPbPr; S-Video and CVBS as well as RGBHV. In addition the 779 has an onboard rendering engine, providing the ability to encode SD TV inputs to HD resolutions. Model 779-D (Dual multi format inputs) offers further encoding options in a single unit. It can encode two independent inputs into two independent SD streams or can be configured to combine both inputs in to a single HD stream at up to 1920 x 1080 resolution. This allows two independent picture (image or video) sources on the same display.
A 779 can operate reliably on it’s own with configuration and stream setup from front panel controls and LCD status display or networked under the control of the MediaStar Evolution Administration software allowing click through to the browser configuration pages. The unit is stand-alone, housed in a freestanding metal box. The unit has IP Browser/RS232/USB control interfaces and is built around an ultra reliable dual-core engine running under Linux. Infra red blaster functionality, RS 232 and USB connectivity enable local operation and IP command pass through for control of source devices by 3rd party control systems or MediaStar Evolution Digital Media Decoders (Part 780). The unit will also send SNMP traps if required. Maintenance free operation, small physical size, low power consumption and software future proofing make the 779 ideally suited for both large scale distributed applications or simple single unit deployments.
