Basic Phone Handling TO PLACE A CALL Internal • Lift Handset or press the New Call soft key • Dial Extension External • Lift Handset or press the New Call soft key • Local – Dial 9 + Number • Long Distance – Dial 9 + 1 + Number The Cisco 7912 IP telephone provides easy access to a wide range of business features. LAST NUMBER REDIAL • Press the REDIAL soft key Phone Overview CALL HOLD • • • Soft Keys o Features are available based upon the state of the phone. Menu Button o Displays a menu that provides access to voicemail, phone logs and directories, settings, and services. Hold Button o Places the active call on hold, resumes a call on hold, and switches between an active call and an incoming call or an active call and a call on hold. Navigation button Allows you to scroll through menus and highlight items. o To Retrieve a Call on Hold • Press the HOLD button again. • If there are multiple calls on hold, scroll to the desired line before pressing the HOLD button again. To establish a Meet Me conference • Press the MORE soft key until you see the MEET-ME feature • Press the MEET-ME soft key • Dial the MEET-ME conference number (1188,1189) To Join a Meet-Me Conference (outside #320.234.8765) • Dial the MEET-ME conference number (which will be published to you upon use of conference function) • You are now connected to the conference CALL FORWARD SPEAKER (one-way only) • The 7912 comes with a speaker for hands-free listening. To Place a Call on Hold • From an existing conversation, press the HOLD button. When your phone is idle, press the CFWDALL soft key • Enter the number, OR press MESSAGE key for sending calls directly to Voicemail To Cancel • Press the CFWDALL soft key • • • • During a call, press the TRANSFER soft key Dial the number Announce the call Press the TRANSFER soft key to complete the transfer, hang up OR • If the person you attempt to transfer the call to is not available, press the END CALL soft key and • Volume Button o Increases or decreases volume for the handset and speaker. Also controls the ringer volume. (on-hook) After the party answers, press the CONFRN soft key to bring the parties together To add additional parties • Repeat the above steps To reconnect to the Conference when a called party isn’t joining • If the person you attempt to bring into the conference is not available, press the END CALL soft key and then the HOLD button to return to the conference call MEET- ME CONFERENCE TO TRANSFER A CALL • • the HOLD button to return to the original caller AD-HOC CONFERENCE (maximum of 4) While a call is in progress, press the MORE soft key and then press the CONFRN soft key. Dial the extension or outside number. • • During a call, press the MONITOR soft key and then hang up the handset. You will be able to hear the call but you will not be able to talk on the call. To turn off, lift the handset or press the MONOFF soft key. PICK UP If your group is set up in software • When a phone is ringing within your group • Press the MORE soft key until you see PICK UP, then select the feature • The call will begin ringing on your phone with the caller Id of the person the call was for • To accept the call, press the ANSWER soft key • You are now connected CALL PARK To Park a Call ( extensions 1220-1239) • On an existing call, press the MORE soft key and then the PARK soft key, the call is automatically placed into a park position, note the position • Hang Up To Retrieve a Parked Call • Dial the park position to which the call was parked, you are now connected DIRECTORIES • • • • • • To view Missed, Received or Placed calls, press the MENU button Press the 2 on the dialing pad or scroll to Directories Press the SELECT soft key Scroll to the directory that you would like to view Press the SELECT soft key To place a call to one of the phone numbers from within the directory, press the DIAL soft key if it’s an internal number or press the EDIT DIAL soft key, press the 9 on the dialing pad, then press the DIAL soft key if it’s an external number RING TYPE • • • • • • • • To log out: • Press the MENU button • Press the Services button • Select the Extension Mobility application • Press the Log out option • Press the “yes” soft key to confirm ABBREVIATED DIALING This feature gives you the ability to access preprogrammed numbers by dialing a code and pressing the AbbrDial soft key. To program these numbers, please refer to the “CCMUser page” handout. To access Abbreviated Dialing • While your phone is idle (no dial tone) • Dial the speed code number • Press the ABBRDIAL soft key • Pick up handset, if desired Press the MENU button Press the 3 on the dialing pad or scroll to Settings Press the SELECT soft key Press the 2 on the dialing pad or scroll to Ring Type Press the SELECT soft key Use the scroll key to select a ring type Press the PLAY soft key to hear the ring type Press the SELECT soft key to save the ring type • FAST DIALS Programming the fast dials • Press the SERVICES button • Press the SELECT soft key on the Fast Dials line • Press the ASSIGN soft key • Scroll to the next available line • Press the SELECT soft key • Enter the number • Press the SUBMIT soft key ABBREVIATED DIALING This feature gives you the ability to access preprogrammed numbers by dialing a code and pressing the AbbrDial soft key. To program these numbers, please refer to the “Address Book and Personal Speed Dial Instructions” handout. To log in: • Press the MENU button • Press the Services button • Select the Extension Mobility application • Enter your user name o NT login (jdoe) • Enter your pin—12345 Press the Services button Select the Extension Mobility application Enter your user name o NT login (jdoe) • Enter your pin—12345 To log out: • Press the MENU button • Press the Services button • Select the Extension Mobility application • Press the Log out option • Press the “yes” soft key to confirm Using the fast dials • Press the SERVICES button • Press the SELECT soft key on the Fast Dials line • Scroll to the line number or enter the line number on the dialing pad • Press the DIAL soft key LCD CONTRAST • • • • • • • • • Services Voicemail is through Office 365.
