to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling. (California Health & Safety Code § 25249.5, et seq.)
Before start-up, note the following: The Booster Pump can be connected to any shock-proof outlet which has been installed according to regulations. The outlet must have a supply voltage of 120 V~ at 60 Hz.
9.
CAUTION This Booster Pump has been designed for use with clear water only.
WARNING Important! For your own safety – before starting to run the pump, please have the following items checked by an expert: 1.
Risk of electric shock – This Booster Pump is supplied with a grounding conductor and grounding-type attachment plug. To reduce the risk of electric shock, connect only to a properly grounded, grounding-type receptacle.
2.
The electrical connections must be protected from moisture.
3.
If there is danger of flooding, the electrical connections must be taken to higher ground.
4.
Circulation of caustic fluids, as well as the circulation of abrasive materials, must be avoided at all costs.
5.
The Booster Pump must be protected from frost.
6.
The Booster Pump must be protected from running dry.
7.
Access by children should also be prevented with appropriate measures.
8.
WARNING: Handling the Power Cord on this product will expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California SKU 96719
The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
Fluid Type The Pump is designed for use with water with a maximum temperature of 104° F (40°C). Do not use the pump for other fluids, especially not fuels, cleaning fluids, or other chemical products.
Specific Safety Rules 1.
To prevent electric shock: • Disconnect the Pump from its power source before handling or making any adjustments. • Wear non-skid rubber boots when any water is on the floor. • Do not allow the Motor to get wet. • Make sure the electrical power source is a separately fused, grounded, 3-wire type GFCI outlet of at least 15 Amp capacity. • Inspect insulation regularly; do not use if insulation damaged. • Do not use an extension cord. • Arrange a “drip loop” in the Power Cord connecting the Pump to a 120 volt, GFCI electrical outlet. A drip loop is that part of the Power Cord below the

level of the outlet to prevent water from traveling along the Power Cord and coming in contact with the outlet. Drip Loop OUTLET
6.
Only use this product to pump cold, clean water less than 104° F.
7.
Secure the intake and discharge pipes (not included) to a solid surface to ensure the stability of the Pump.
8.
When connecting intake and discharge pipes to Pump, be sure to use thread tape (not included) and securely fasten pipes in place.

CORD
If the Power Plug or electrical outlet does get wet, do not unplug the Power Cord. Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the Pump. Then unplug the Power Cord and examine for presence of water or moisture in the outlet. See diagram above. 2.
Maintain labels and nameplates on the Pump. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
3.
Use indoors only.
4.
This product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children.
5.
People with pacemakers should consult their physician(s) before use. Electromagnetic fields in close proximity to heart pacemaker could cause pacemaker interference or pacemaker failure. In addition, people with pacemakers should: • Properly maintain and inspect to avoid electrical shock. • Any power cord must be properly grounded. Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) should also be implemented – it prevents sustained electrical shock.

11/32” DIAMETER MOUNTING SLOT
2.
To mount the Pump’s Bottom Housing (48), temporarily place the Pump on the mounting surface. Use the two 11/32” diameter mounting slots in the Pump as a template to mark the locations where two holes will be drilled in the mounting surface. Then set the Pump aside and drill the two mounting holes. WARNING! Make sure there are no hidden wires in the drilling path. See Figure 1.
3.
Use two Bolts (not supplied, with Lock Washers and Nuts if required) to secure the Pump to the mounting surface.
4.
NOTE: The Intake and Discharge Ports on the Pump are 1” NPT. Only 1” diameter pipes (not included) must be attached to the Pump. Do not attempt to reduce the intake or discharge sizes below 1” diameter as this will affect Pump flow, performance, or cause damage.
5.
Once the Bottom Housing is properly mounted, thread the Pressure Switch Head (60) to the Bottom Housing using the Active Connector (61). See Figure 2 next page.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING! Risk of accidental starting; resulting in serious personal injury. Turn the Power Switch of the Pump to its “OFF” position and unplug the tool from its electrical outlet before assembling or making any adjustments to the tool. Note: For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages, refer to the Assembly Diagram near the end of this manual. 1.
The Pump is designed to be mounted on a horizontal surface capable of supporting the weight of the Pump, connections (not included), and any additional accessories.

Connect a 1” NPT pipe to the Intake Port of the Booster Pump, using thread tape (included) to secure the pipe in place. See Figure 2.
7.
Connect a 1” NPT pipe to the Discharge Port at the top of the Switch Head, using thread tape to secure the pipe in place. See Figure 3.
8.
NOTE: The maximum Discharge Head of the Pump is 115 feet. The discharge pipe should be kept as short as possible with a minimum number of turns and with as straight a flow path as possible.
9.
IMPORTANT: Prior to initial startup, the Pump will require priming. Thereafter, the Pump will retain the prime. To prime the Pump, unscrew and remove the Primer Plug (8). See Figure 2. Fill the Pump Head (9) with clean, cold water. Then re-install the Primer Plug.

10. Make sure the Power Switch (46) is in its “OFF” position. Plug the Power Cord/Plug (45) into its 120 volt, GFCI electrical outlet, making sure to form a “drip loop” in the Power Cord. Then turn the Power Switch to its “ON” position. The POWER ON LED light on the control panel will turn on. 11. The Pump will now start and run until pressure is built up. The control panel’s PUMP ON LED light will turn on. Once pressure is built up, the Pump will go into standby until the pressure drops.

Troubleshooting Problem
Pump will not start.
Possible Causes
1. No power.
2. Impeller clogged. 3. Pipes clogged. 4. Valves closed. Pump operates but provides no water flow.
1. Pump not primed. 2. Not Inlet water. 3. Valves closed. 4. Air leaks.
Error light is on.
1. Leaks. 2. No Inlet water. 3. Failure.
Possible Solutions
1. Check outlet power. - Verify Power Cord is plugged in. - Verify Power Switch is on. 2. Clean out Impeller and fan blades. 3. Check all connections for clogs. 4. Verify all valves are open.
1. Fill Pump Head with water. Then follow priming instructions. 2. Verify the supply water is freely flowing into the Pump. 3. Open all valves. 4. Verify all connections are tight with no leaking and that thread tape has been used. 1. Verify all connections are tight with no leaking and that thread tape has been used. 2. Verify the supply water is freely flowing into the Pump. 3. Verify the following: - Pump is primed (see page 5). - Impeller and fan blades are clear of debris. - All connections are clear of clogs. - All valves are open. - Pump is not overheating. (The Pump is equipped with an internal thermal protector which automatically shuts down motor if overheated.) - To restart (in case of overheating): 1. Turn Pump off. 2. Wait 5-10 minutes. 3. Turn Power Switch to ON. 4. Press RESTART button.
Follow all safety precautions whenever diagnosing or servicing the tool. Disconnect power supply before service.
